Has there been any update on Vlad's passport situation, it would be shame for him to miss the entire US tour not only for the game time but for bonding with the group. If he's fully settled and happy then I think he will thrive in Poch's system

For the goals we shipped last season, I would have thought the priorities would a starting /1st team CB, a starting LB, with a younger CB that could be developed by Poch and his staff.
Multi-Year projects are all well in good in press conferences, in match programmes etc, but in reality the wrong results can curtail any long term plans, or hopes of getting a better deal next summer.
The high line and pressing game that we expect from the Poch-system will need an established partnership at CB, to marshal the line.
Are we going to be strong enough with 2 from Kaboul, Vlad and Jan until Christmas, and see what the January window brings?
I'd hope we get an established CB in now, even at an inflated price, so as to allow the defensive players to buy into Poch's philosophy and style and avoid a panic buy after Christmas or start debating which CM's can be drafted in to cover at the the centre of defense.

My two cents:
Ron Vlaar is not someone we should be signing. One decent tournament but other than that poor.
Fryers should not be used at lb. He should be part of our 4 cb's. I think he could turn into a very good cb

Are we trying to sign a new passport for vlad from another team?!

Cool out people. Just because The ITK brigade have not pinpointed a CB doesn't mean we aren't looking or maybe we do have one in our sights.
When its time it will happen and he will appear just like the Angel Gabriel. NO its not a cryptic.

Eh? There hasn't been any ITK on Vlaar has there? I'm sure someone just mentioned that we should go in for him and that is how the last few pages have been talk on him.

ITK doesn't have to be transfers, I was just wondering if any one of the ITKs had shed any light on this situation or even confirmed this was why Vlad didn't travel

The club announced that Vlad had a lower back problem.

Good god!!! Are you on drugs? Suggesting patience! Can't you read there are people on here who are WORRIED and even worse CONCERNED about our CB situation. Your empty promises on the back of "wait and see" ain't gonna put food on the table are they?

Jay Rod is a LWF and Lamela is a RWF so different roles within the team

Agree, except that I think Fryers is a perfectly good backup LB, as well as 4th/5th choice CB. He shows a lot of promise in both roles, along with the expected mistakes at his age. I think LB would be a good place for him to learn, with a view to him eventually moving permanently to CB in the long term.

I'm sure SSN said today another club(I don't remember) were in for Lascalles, now I know SSN are a horses arse but where would they get that story, unless of course they heard about us but didn't get the right club.
I reckon it's pretty clear we are looking for a CB as we were obviously looking at Lovren, I reckon the club has assessed the situation and decided there are a whole bunch of CB's of a similar standard, let's be honest who really stands out head and shoulders above the others, so won't get into an auction and will mop up after the big money has been spent.
