Yeah, Pochettino doesn't really excite me. It's a pretty lateral move and that point, we should have never fired AVB. I'm not sure how I feel about Benitez. Still hoping for De Boer at this point.
For some reason we have been selected to be on sky sports this Sunday. Why us???? It's a meaningless game, unless something might be announced and sky have been given the heads-up. FDB in the crowd?
I was only joking! Lol but seriously why are we on sky? Maybe the expect is to lose and everyone wants to have one more final laugh at us before the season ends. What have you been smoking? Lol
Would be great but not likely IMO.
Still think he will be our main target now thou.
But poch has levy written all over it.

Like a... sort of... ventriloquist?Di Marzio (sp) is the one to follow and listen to on twitter. Very close to Baldini as they both from the same home town. When he says something about THFC you can be sure it's actually Baldini speaking....
Yes, I don't think Sky have put us on for the match but the interview after.I know you was joking mate dont worrie
I actally think it is something to do with Sherwood and the way he can react on the sidelines.
I think it can add to the drama of the game and if we lose it looks gd for Man UTD.
I think his interview after could be interesting too
I don't think FDB's style is similar to AVB's at all. Yes they both 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 most of the time and like to keep possession and that is about where it ends.Well that's certainly a big plus regarding the similar structure and like you say him being able to sync the development effectively. Still not sure how high up Levy's list or priorities that will be.
I also still worry about the style, and if similar to AVB in terms of implementation etc...but I know we'll see that differently so not much point in elaborating too much.
But surely you wouldn't be too dissatisfied with Pochettino? There's more to like than not to like, and our defense needs improving whoever the next manager is regardless.
All three would be a good choice for differing reasons. Poch for style of play, FDB as the next big thing and Rafa as a safe proven winner.
I can't move from Rafa, I just think the timing for him and us is perfect.

Firstly FDB adapts the way his team plays sometimes in the style changes in the game like when they beat Barca with 10 men (Check out the video posted by absolute bobbins on page 21 of the "who do you want to be our manager next season?" thread.).
FDB's team don't hold onto the ball to then pass backwards or sideways, there is a lot of one touch/two touch passing. They also go through the middle or spread it out wide for the full backs to cross. Also, when the pass is on they will play an early long ball from the back if the % to keep the ball is in their favor (not scared to plat risky passes).
FDB doesn't play a high line.
Another thing I like about FDB, is he teaches his players how to play more intelligently so they make correct decisions without needing to think about it (second nature), imagine if he could get this through to Dembele, what a player he could become.

There are many similarities between Pochettino's and AVB's styles. The only difference is that Poch has applied it effectively while AVB fucked it up.
When people say that getting a foreign manager is a risk, I always look back to Mourinho. Now, I'm obviously not saying FDB will be our Mourinho but it shows that getting a foreign manager can work magically.
Personally, I would go for trophies over PL experience- ideally, you would wan't both which is why many people on here want Benitez.
From the games I have seen it doesn't look like they play with a high line, certainly not to the extent of AVB's anyway. As far as I know all Dutch teams play a 433 high line variation on Cruyff's Total football philosophy...

Apart from he's won stuff, what draws you to Benitez?
Less risk and fairly safe bet. It's as close to a guarantee as I can get in my mind. He is of an age that will allow him to stay at the club a long time and clearly wants the job. I can't talk tactics or philosophies cos I'm shit at that stuff, just think he has the proven cv.

I tend to agree with this.
We are a broken club atm. Players are not performing to their best down to poor coaching/management.
On the one hand FDB would definitely sort out the coaching side of things (at least from what I am reading about him and his coaching team); but on the other hand the Premier League is like no other in Europe, the pace of the game is different and Benitez understands that. I'm not sure FDB does.
FDB will adapt of course, given time, but given the fical nature of the board will he be given this opportunity? I'm not sure he will. I think his outspoken nature will eventually rub Levy up the wrong way and we will be back to square one in 18 months or so.
Benitez is a mature manager who showed dignity when managing Chelsea, who has a proven track record; and can get the job done.
