all im saying is we have spent very little money if anything at all and im questioning the motves of the board and owners to guarentee us top 4 at least. they talk about bringing success and making team stronger. how is it stronger whne they break almost even over summer ?

Have you just woke up from a coma?? We spent over £100m...

We invested in with some really strong & some young signings, definitely with the future in mind. Whether it was reinvesting bale money before being announced or if it was just our budget & bale deal just balanced books it doesn't matter, I think we should be well chuffed (im delighted) -fair enough I would of loved a LB & maybe a young striker but it wasn't to be.

For the first time my mates (mostly utd fans) are envious of Spurs in the way we did our dealings this window, that doesn't happen often.

Time alot of our fans woke up & lifted their heads out of their bowl of coco pops & realised we're a well run club - not oil rich, don't give a fuck about money type club.. Like city/chelsea.

Hear on SSN that as long as the paper work gets in the deal can still go through

Holtby and Eriksen could easily surpass Ozil anyway.

Would have been great to get him but then Holtby definitely wouldn't have played and it would have messed with his development.

Added: Ozil is the signing of the summer in the league no doubts, but a few more injuries and Arsenal are in trouble

Issues we needed to address at the end of last year:

LB - Could argue this wasn't done but we have given Rose a chance, lets see if he takes it. If in Jan he hasn't we can look for a new one. Would have been nice to get at least a back up on loan but not the end of the world.

Cover for Sandro/Replacement fro the aging Parker - We did better, we go competition for Sandro, who is also good on the ball. We also managed to get money for the aging Parker and his high wages off the books.

Goals from Midfield - Not only did we get a player that can score from CM, but we aren't sacrificing our power and tenacity with getting Paulinho. We also brought in Chadli (Almost a 1 goal in 2 game ratio last year), Eriksen & Lamela who have a history of scoring.

Creativity from Midfield - I think Holtby will come good in this area anyway but we also bought Eriksen, who is exactly what we need and can take on players and score too. Lamela is also more creative than Bale.

Back up for the wings - Townsend returning & Chadli cover this.

Striker that can score - Soldado, enough said.

Good delivery from in-direct free kicks (and direct free kicks now Bale has gone) & corners - I don't think we could have got better than Eriksen for this, his has an awesome delivery and free kick.

Replacement for Bale - Lamela. IMO once he has settled, he will provide more to our play than Bale. He has flair, can go past players for fun, great off the ball running and creative. The only thing we will miss Bale for IMO is his rediculous pace (no use when 10 men are defending behind the ball) and his last minute 25-30 yard screamers, which we hopefully wont need once Soldado, Eriksen, Chadli & Lamela settle.

All in all a great window and we even got ride of some dead wood.

The only business that concerns me is letting go of Caulker, as he looked good for a 21 year old, was HG and came from out own academy. maybe Chiriches is so good, it just had to be done. I guess time will tell.

Ozil is a great player no doubt about it, but if erikson comes in & plays the way we're all expecting him to then at £11.5m would make him a better signing & signing of the summer in my opinion.

Eriksen has to adapt to the pace in the Premier League and could have physical issues. Guess he will need some time like chadli. Happy to have him but ozils Impact will be bigger the first season i guess. He is a World star. We will see

You could argue both of those points about Ozil though.

What a window this was, fcuk me Lamela is my tip. Watch this boy play and only 21. GB was not this good at his age.
Erickson looks like a real spurs player and how much? jesus we stole this guy.
Paulinho a regular brazil starter and not 30 mil either.
Capoue another steal, how the others missed him is beyond me.
A decent fcuking striker at last!!!!!!!!!!!!
All the other signings look good too.
O YEAH THEY COST FCUK ALL AFTER ALL HE DEAD WOOD AND ONE FANTASTIC TALENT LEFT.
Get real some you lot.
Come back in 15 games and say the window was shit, and avb dosent know what hes doing.
You dont what your doing.
The board has found a manager they like and backed him, SO SHOULD YOU.
Come on coys

Lol...people arguing over "net spending"....are there crazy pills going around?! Either ways if someone told me that our squad was significantly better than it was a few months ago, yet it did not effectively cost anything (net spending zero) to do so.....I would be over the frigging moon! I mean isn't that point of running a healthy business/club? Ideally, to enhance your product without burdening it with crippling debt?? I think we did awesome player trading....and the biggest factor is the squad/product is better than it was a few months ago.(y)

Agree that Eriksen may have to adapt, but then again he might fit right in quicker than some expect. Ozil might just need some time to adjust as well, perhaps he might just find it tougher than he expects after a few crunching tackles in the PL. again this is only my opinion
