I personally would not be furious at a Chadli-Holtby-Lamela 3 behind Soldado. It may not be everyone's favorite, but I think there's goals and assists in that setup.

I think that would work well. Personally I still hope we go for Eriksen though.
I respectfully disagree. If Bale goes, Lamela alone is nowhere near enough of replacement to have us in the same position as if Bale stayed. We'd need Lamela, Coentrao (coming back in the deal with Real), Eriksen, and Aldeweireld to really make it worth our while. Eriksen is on another level than Holtby and Sigurdsson. Neither of those two have his ability on set-ball pieces, and he represents excellent value for the price quoted.
Again, if we lose Bale and haven't brought in high level replacements to fill in for Rose, Sigurdsson, and Lennon in our current starting XI, then we'll have not strengthened enough to really push us on.

The good thing is that there are options in front of us that we can easily make moves for. I just hope we act quickly in case other clubs become more involved.
I just hope after 2nd Sep we have made the right moves with Bale STAYING (in an ideal world).

Erik Lamela’s representatives are set to meet with Tottenham Hotspur as they look to secure a move for the Roma forward.
The 21-year-old has reportedly been eyed as a replacement for Gareth Bale, should the Welshman leave Spurs for Real Madrid.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Argentine’s representatives will be in London on Tuesday to discuss a deal with the Premier League side.

Erik Lamela and Tottentham. In previous days we had mentioned Walter Sabatini, Roma’s sporting director, trip to London to meet with Tottenham. Just some discussions, nothing too advanced, also because they were waiting for the Osvaldo to Southampton deal. Today, however the entourage of the player will fly to London to meet with Tottenham. From Roma we are hearing it could be just a vacation. Roma is stating there is no authorization for them to speak with English club.
