For someone who seems to hold such influence in the club as Sherwood, it's curious why we hear and see so little of him or his views on in-house politics.

He is indeed, the Tottenham Keyser Soze!
Makes me a little uncomfortable tbh. Well, very uncomfortable actually. No idea why other than, well, he's Tim bleedin' Sherwood.

only asking cause I know you was at the training centre last week, and mentioned that Bale wasn't happy.

surely if he was that unhappy and intent on a move, by now we would of had a headline "Bale has handed in a transfer request"

Why would we have that headline??? He hasn't handed in a transfer request and from what i've been told he won't!

It doesn't mean he's happy to stay.

Mirror saying we are giving the players Monday off training. Surprises me
probably beacause they've been travelling a lot recently and resting players making sure they don't get injured two weeks before season starts!

I can give you a list of officially scouted players from one of our european scouts....

james mccarthy, federici or mccartney, tom ince and matt phillips,, shane long (most scouted player of last season),luke shaw.

I read the reports of the above in april so its a bit old.

He knows Europe's got more than one country right ?

Ali Z re Lamela

Can confirm that we are definitely interested he is among a few we are looking at, no deal yet and a very hard deal to do, he is keen but they do not need the money.

so he is happy with all the headlines that are being bounded about at the moment, hand in a transfer request makes everyone know the truth. if all the news is true and he wants to leave, he will still get the same reaction from Spurs fans.

if he is that desperate he will be willing to lose his loyalty bonus, if he doesn't hand in a request and we do refuse to sell he will be with us for another season.

So handing in a transfer request, how would that pan out?.. Loyalty bonus gone?... Does it affect his agents too?...also it's rumoured Stellar could get a fee of upto £10m out of the transfer. Who pays this? The buying or the selling club?

Just wondering why people are so sure Bale won't hand a transfer request in..

A few weeks ago Roma admitted everyone is for sale at the right price.

Then they sold Marquinhos for a load. But now they are buying again. Don't think their position has changed, may not 'need' the money but would sell for a decent fee.

Looks like JJ was correct when he said that Remy is off to Newcastle. Kinnear has seemingly confirmed that deal is about to wrap up.

Like I've said previously, until JJetset says differently, I'm operating under the assumption that Bale will be sold at some point. One just hopes it's not too late, and that several of Madrid's players are keen on joining us (Marca said today that Coentrao would welcome the move).

The options to upgrade the squad are limited if Bale goes, as Ljacic wants to move only AC Milan, and apparently, Roma is set to give Lamela a new contract.

Again, if he goes, we better hope Di Maria has changed his mind about joining us, or we'd be very vulnerable to no serious replacement for him.

Regardless of Bale going I'd buy Lamela; he will be worth £40-50 million if he carries on his progression by next summer. If we know definitely Bale will be off next season, makes much more sense to do it now.

Coentrao's salary would be extortionate and in line with Ade's without doubt.

Invoice discounting isn't a free service and would take a reasonable little chunk out of 60m. Maybe 2-3m No ?

Will depend on a whole host of things - but if the idea is to bring forward £20m pa for 3 years into a single £60m payment, it wioll cost much much more.

The other effect is that it is seen as 'borrowing' by other potential lenders so will reduce Spurs borrowing capacity.

Not a geat idea - let RM bear the full cost of the move by demanding they give the £60m cash up froint.
