A lot of the ITK guys say that there has been no bid. The question that I hope JJ or POTL can answer is 'if there was a mega bid, would Levy accept it?'.
This summer we appear to be in a situation whereby we can take on the top few teams in the title race with a couple of quality additions.
If we sell Bale we may as well just wave that goodbye. Does Levy think like this?

new centre back nothing to do with Caulker.
Eventual plan under AVB is to have a minimised squad with each player fulfilling multiple positions. Will take some time to achieve though. Thankfully Andre is planning for the future as it is our and his intention for him to stay at the club for some time.
As for all the other transfer stuff, don't believe that he doesn't know what's going on. Andre knew deal s were happening.

Mourinho also likes a smaller squad with good players that can fit in different positions

This is excellent news re AVB. Love the guy and want him to build but didn't think long term was possible after his revelations about wanting to retire in ten years and manage in different countries (and complete the Paris-Dakar) before then.
Just hope he doesn't walk if we eventually have to sell Bale...

Ok, just seen the ITK thread. If legit and bale wants out, I'd take the cash at this point.
Surely that price can't go up much further. The Spanish clubs will get strangled, debt wise soon enough plus FFP will cut in. I might be wrong but I honestly don't see him becoming more valuable. Sometimes its best to do these things while were still in control of the situation.
My one stipulation is that they pay it all up front. That way we can make a clean break and rip up the 'arrangement' at the same time.
