Something feels different about this year, I'm far more optimistic about this transfer window than previous ones.

C'mon Franky boy! Bobby Soldier would score for fun in our team!
What are we all going to do on Deadline Day? There'll be nobody left to chase. Jim White will just have to make stuff up (oh, wait).

Alexis Sanchez is just reaching levels of lunacy that I daren't take myself to.

I think I would genuinely faint with shock, excitement and the entire mass emptying out of all my orifices.

I won't allow myself to think about Bale - Soldado - Sanchez. I simply won't.

Okay. I am.

Very very funny post!

So we got Baldini in to push the wheelbarrow of cash around Europe, and it looks like it's paying off!

£43 mil left to spunk?

If we're discussing Sanchez as a possibility, wouldn't Lamela be a legit option too? Which one would be preferable in a dream world?

If we get soldado and don't get sanchez I wont care. Obviously if we are in for sanchez then yes id love to have him also but soldado would do nicely. Please don't let me down on this one.

If we actually are in for both of them I would imagine sanchez is a loan deal or something. Maybe im wrong and I haven't seen any stats from last season but I thought he wasn't getting that many games for them. Maybe it is a loan deal with a view to having first dibs on bale? Id be happy with that

Soldado or Negredo?

Paulinho or Fernandinho?

I've always been partial to Soldado over Negredo, but that will change from person to person as it just boils down to personal preference.

I would take Paulinho over Fernandinho every day of the week.

It's been great so far tonight, but as an ever-pessimistic Spurs fan I'm just waiting for something bad to happen. My mind is playing tricks on me and I'm going into denial.

I'm starting to worry that Levy's on the other end of phone to Baldini, giving the go ahead and knocking one off whilst staring at a cheque from Real Madrid that has 85 big ones on it.

I think the heat's getting to me.

Lamela, to me, would signal to me that we are actually entertaining Bale offers. Either that or we are keeping the 4-2-3-1 and then I'd be even more confused.

Would he have authority to without Levy signing too?

The company i work for any transactions over x amount have to be signed by CEO and finance director

I might be wrong but wasn't there some itk that said "we're waiting til the mega rich clubs do their business" or similar?

Looks like that wasn't too far wrong: City might have gone for Sanchez or Saldado, but opted for others in those postions. Same with Chavs; olverloaded in midfield and bought a forward in Schurrie, Utd are strikered out plus a tricky winger/cum attacker is probably not on their list whilst the Goons just suck so much they can't seal a deal with anyone. PSG, JUve, Monaco all spent elsewhere. We're picking up the "scraps" (hehehehehe) and they're f*cking tasty morsels!

We're looking at silverware in 2014. Gulp.

I imagine part of Franco's remit is to have that kind of authority.

My thoughts exactly.

I think Soldado is that bit more consistent. On his day Negredo is world class, but can have off days.

Agree re: Paulinho.

Shame they bought Jovetic as well.
