I would play Ade and Defoe together - maybe Defoe or Ade in the hole. I cant stand Sig or Dempsey and yesterday we played with nine men not the 11 we ought to be starting with.

You cant drop Defoe
This is exactly what I was going post in the 4-4-2 thread, well done for posting it first!
We have all seen how deep Ade drops in most games he could well play this role and we just can't drop Defoe at the moment.
Anyway I think this is something we should try for a few games at least.

My favourite bit is that Ade is supposed to have said this in a secret meaning. Is it one of those secret meetings with several other particpants? Or has either Ade or AVB (or both) walked out of it and proceeded to tell all and and sundry (connected with the club and otherwise) everything that occurred?

Personally, I suspect that the Sun journo in question has got wind (maybe even via a genuine Tottenham source) that, as part of AVBs open door policy, Ade has paid him a visit and woven a whole BS story out of this snippet of information.

The story itself, and the idea that Ade, who has just been through a massively complex and protracted move (due in no small part to his wage demands/structure), would want to go through the same already after being available for about 3 EPL games, is, frankly, ludicrous :ROFLMAO:

This time last year I had an interview in the Sun newsroom. Got offered the job, maybe I should have taken it!

You couldn't, remember? You had to cancel the labotomy because no job is worth that as a condition of employment.

'Spurs source quoted.....' is a contradiction. If somebody is quoted then the quote is attributable. Anonymous 'quotes' are valueless or, more likely, invented.

The usual high standard of 'journalism' that you expect from this rag. The fact that it still exists is a sad indictment of the collective stupidity of the british public.

Did Villas-Boas actually want to sign him? I'm not convinced that any of the players we secured in the summer were his targets.
Whether he did or didn't is irrelevant. He is an intelligent man and a talented football manager. People with those attributes make the best use of the resources at their disposal. If he thinks playing Adebayor is better for the team than playing Defoe (or Dempsey or Siggy) then I am sure that he will do it.

Think it's probably bollocks however you can understand why he would be pissed off. Should of started yesterday and should be one of the first names on the team sheet but for whatever reason he isn't.

The reason is he wanted to squeeze as much money and vacation out of Man city as he could. He didn't have to prolong the transfer and that's the price you pay even if you have a "good reason" for it.

So Ade was going cheap in the summer but had high wage demands, we sign him on a long contract and now a club (that could have got him cheap in the summer) will come in, pay a high transfer fee and his wages? Good one.

Lol it feels like the forums have been waiting for a loss...its been well quiet after we won 4 on the bounce!

Adebayor was quoted last week as saying he wants to help the team win games and help Defoe score goals - he changed his mind in week?! Lol...why even quote this shit

He was on the bench again yesterday for the clash with Chelsea despite Gareth Bale missing the game as his partner went into labour.

Yes, it's utterly ridiculous we didn't play Adebayor on the left wing.

It's another non-story. He hasn't really been available for the first team until very recently.
He'll be in the starting 11 very soon and all of this will blow over.

He was warming up in front of my uncle - he said when we went 2-1 up Adebayor looked down at his feet while the other subs warming up celebrated, and when we went 3-2 down he was a lot more buoyant (I assume because it meant he was coming on)

He had a few nice touches but also looked rusty still and not quite as committed as one might hope.

With two games against Maribor and Wigan at home, he should start at least two games, preferably three for me. But he needs to pull his finger out if he wants to get more games.

To be fair to The Sun, although incredibly over exaggerated- there was a slight issue with Ade on Saturday as he thought especially after Bale and Dembele weren't playing he thought he should of started. He made his feelings known, but he hasn't asked to leave.
He needs minutes though.

To be honest, he's not the only one who thought he should have started, and that is regardless of whether Bale/Dembele were available.

the sun is full of shit but at same time if a player like defoe can get ahead of adebayor i dont blame him if he wants to leave...

we only signed him cos levy cant and wont pay big money for a world class one so he was the great cheaper option with resale value in a couple of years to make his money back and start whole process again....

the difference between adebayor and defoe is absolute light years when on form and even off form!! what adebayor can bring to team is vital. a team player 99% of time , the exact opposite of defoe ...

spurs will never do anything with defoe at main striker. we will get exactly the type of match we watched on saturday.
