He might not be good enough for Yanited but neither was Berbatov. The guy scores 1 in 3 after going in and out of the team and you write him off? Not even worth considering as a second striker?

not someone that excites me, I can't imagine he would be suited to 1 up top on his own, not saying hes a poor player but not what we need in my opinion

I would fricking love that. Fergie would never sell us a good player though. He even loans us scrubbers.
Arsenal currently have 5 strikers that can all play up top by themselves

Giroud, Podolski, Park Chu Young, Chamakh and Bendtner

i sit on the FX side of a deal team. So i get cc'd into "Credit Meetings" and other stuff. I don't get to see a lot of stuff as a) not my business and b) might be a chinese wall. but i know a LOC was being discussed in the meeting and was issued / prepared so as you pointed out a bid was made / accepted. my role will be when the gbp is converted into whatever it may be.

someone stated it could have been for training facilities etc. but its 100% for players as it went through the transfers team (yup, we have a special footie trade team).

an ITK would say something like, "big bid placed, expect an imminent signing, wooow this is a biggie". as i don't know any of the details or timings i'm not that stupid. What i've quite enjoyed doing is talking Stoof through how some of the finance aspects fit together to help people form ideas. aka if modric loc goes through does that mean we can now re-issue the flow for new incomings. you'll know from reading the piece there are other aspects to consider and other financy bits. but its good to be able to provide some insight. at least i know when some of the ITKs are lying....

I'm no where near that trade now, am an artist and music designer, which I much prefer. Interesting in context to your post, I never found LOC info so readable and interesting.

Appreciate your posting and colab with Stoof made for a quality read alround.

It's always interesting to know more about the club, made a change from just talking who and how much, and when.

Salute*

True enough. Then again, my thinking is coloured by the fact I feel we have as much chance of signing Ade and Leandro as Pool have of finishing top 4. Anyways, as already discussed, Fergie wouldn't sell us anyone of even the slightest value so it's not going to happen.

 Indeed. I'll be staggered if Wenger doesn't look at another striker though. Whether he pulls the trigger or not is another matter. Out of the top 6/7 clubs, we're in terrible shape at striker but assnal aren't far behind. Nor are Pool. Newcastle might just be the favourites for 4th in my mind tbh.

I disagree I think sahin and Mvila will be his final targets and that is only if Song leaves

Yes, I mentioned them a few posts back. Wenger having £20m to spend could really fuck us up if he moves for the wrong player/players (from out POV). The bastards just keep finding new ways of being annoying.

FROM A RELIABLE SOURCE:
THINK about this:

1. That reported fee agreed with RM for Modric could also include a player thrown in the deal.
2. That reported fee is just what we are saying publicly because we want Moutinho and Lloris / LD cheaper.

who would they throw in to offset around £10m in value? There's only a few players i can think of.... none of which we'd want or need, so i think its more about #2.

crossing my fingers for Alvaro Morata, although im sure he'd be way more expensive than that + real madrid are really high on him from what i hear, so there's no way

Maybe. They do offer outrageous wages.

As for assnal not signing another striker - well Podolski plays wide, maybe he gets shifted centrally but eh. 2 strikers is hardly stacked and they have £20m to play with. Let's hope they don't fuck up any of our potential signings.

They still have Chamak and Park and Bentner etc on their books.

I was the first to say this on page 30! Since then it's been mentioned by 10 different people :)

Yes, what is a loyalty bonus? If it's 5%-10%, and Rm have offered high 20's, him forgoing his bonus tips us over the £30m mark. Just about acceptable.

I may be wrong but as far as i am aware it is an amount agreed upon when negotiating the contract (could be a % but usually an agreed upon fee) and it is paid in installments ie £5 million signing on fee paid at £1 million a year over a 5 year contract. if the player leaves after 2 years then they would be paid the remaining 3 years (£3 million) in a lump sum

No idea what Luka's loyalty bonus would be, but even at £1 million a year he would be writing off £4 million which effectively would add £4 million onto the transfer fee we recieve
