I wouldn't disagree. However, if we ended up with Allen as one of a middle 3, along with say, Sandro/Parker and VDV/Gylfi, I'd be happy enough. Is he the best player we're interested in? No. Might just be the most likely to sign though.

Unless anyone, even the most optimisitc among us, sees us not only breaking our transfer record, but nigh on doubling it? I really can't see that happening.

Jesus fucking Christ. Roman must have actually worn his nub completely down. He is, as of now, utterly dickless. It's the only logical explanation as to why he's signing every single player currently signed to a professional contract in European and South American football

i concur.

i think we have decent players in midfield but i really worry they are not cut out to play 4-3-3. sandro fine as defensive but either side of him who to play??? sigursson maybe yes but vdv no way ..

you really need hard working players with a huge work rate to play that way..and the two players either side of the lone front man are crucial too for it to work as it really puts pressure on midfield.

avb has said we'll be playing the same system as last year, not 433. although there isn't a massive amount of difference admittedly.

We have to get rid of the loan system for players over 19. That would do more to stop PSG, City and Chelsea stockpiling players than FFP. Would hurt us too, but I don't care that we fucked up buying Khumalo.

Yep. Close your eyes, think of a player - any player, dead or alive - and chelsea will open negotiations with them 5 minutes later.

I always thought our 4-4-1-1 was a lot closer/similar to a 4-2-3-1 than most thought.

Yes. I think that maybe we see Sandro and Parker together. Just an idea. Allows the FB to push on, which AVB likes, and the wide players to cut inside.

I think that was the plan. It rarely ended up being that though. Looked more like 4-------------------1----------------------------------------5 with yawning chasms in between the defence, midfield and attack. Of course, two of those front five constantly got in each others' way as they bumped into one another occupying the same space. Scotty was left to stick his fingers in as many dykes as possible. (titter)

we've moved the yawning chasm behind the defence now though, the rest is pretty compact (y)
