Couldn't agree more, Im sitting on 200 points and go as much as possible each season, yet I know someone who doesnt even go anymore yet is sitting on enough points to get a final ticket each year, how is that fair ?

Because he must of got them points at some point in his life, and probably when we were terrible.

I think the system works fine,

  • If your a season ticket holder you should have a prioirty over a member.
  • If you are a member and you have 5 points and the next person who is also a member has 4 points you get prioirty.

I'm not saying I'm a better fan or anything like that, but seriously, I sat through Jason Dozzell, Dean Austin, Andy Sinton, Chris Perry, Oyvind Leonhardsen, and many other legends of that ilk. This must be how Jesus felt when he spent his life toiling and going through hardship and pain only to end up being skewered to a bit of wood!
I was on the waiting list for years before I got my season ticket offer at the end of last season. ALL my loyalty points were zeroed. I have built up a small bank of loyalty points where I can based on Cup games but what I have accrued wouldn't get me within a Wembley burger stall.
So it is fair old bean because, like me, you could have gone on to get a ST and thereby get first dibs, and if you've declined on the basis of cost, yet still go regularly then your points are intact and should be enough, given the years you've been going. In fact your name is probably at the very top of the points tree!

I would say that this ticketing system for the Chelsea game is much much fairer than the free for all we had to endure for Champions League games.

Everyone has a different perspective on what 'loyalty' means, but the club's best way of determining that through the number of games attended by an individual. Some clubs restrict this to the number of games attended over that particular season, but we extend it beyond that. If someone can come up with a fairer system then well done, but I think you would find it very hard to do without resorting to some sort of scheme which accounts for so many variables that it would be an administrative nightmare and therefore unfeasible.

I have 450+ loyalty points as a member, never miss a home game and haven't stopped going since I gave up my season ticket about five years ago (big mistake), been going for 20 years, I keep hearing that you lose all points gained if you then take on a season ticket, I am very close to getting one, is it really worth it apart from having more chance to get to certain away games?? I mean how long would it take me to gain enough points again to get tickets for say European games away etc.

not quite true, ST holders are hardly the most 'loyal'. Alot of them will give up their tickets if we have another 10 year dip in form, and alot of them only renew because not renewing means waiting for that same dip.

the real problem is, unless you make it like Big Brother with full retina scans and monitoring you when you sing the correct loyal songs, there will be people who get through the cracks because you cant measure loyalty.

This system sort of makes a guess, because going to shitty away games like Stoke gets you more points than going to see Real Madrid last season. One 'finances' the other. Its shitty, and it allows them to rinse the dedicated supporter for cash, but its the simplest way to measure loyalty.

I speak as a dedicated thinker on this subject, having suffered the pain of missing the Chelsea final by 2 LP points and watching touts charging £200 a pop. For them, loyalty = big pay day. And to an extent, it does for the club too.

Well.

If you're a Season Ticket holder with 1 point you will have more chance of getting to a European away game than a member with 1'000'000 points.

I actually think the system is reasonably fair and i'm someone who probably won't get a ticket this year as i'm only in the 170s. However season ticket holders have either held the ticket for a while or were on the waiting list for some time so they should go to the front of the queue for games like this. Then come members, the more games you go to the higher up the list you get. Unfortunately for some circumstances mean you might take longer than others to amass points. Me for example, i've been coming to spurs games since 1987 as an 8 year old but i lived in Birmingham until i was 18 so saw only a handful of games. I then went to Manchester for 4 years and became a member but would only go to a few games a season so the points would not add up. Now i've lived in london for 9 years but for a large chunk of that time i was pretty poor so not many games, it's only in the last 4 years or so where i've upped my attendance however last season i went to about 12 home games but mostly in a box so again no points. The fact is i have been a passionate supporter for 25 years but if circumstances say i can't go to a big cup game this season so be it. The only reason i won't get a ticket is if someone has spent more money on games than i have - surely that is as fair as it goes!

I got allocated a QPR ticket with the option to reject it as it is Restricted View. I have until 5pm today to send an email to reject it so you won't find out until tomorrow at the earliest the cut off point for QPR tickets. What you are guaranteed though is a restricted view ticket in the upper tier if you do get one.

Cheers, not thinking i'll get one as its a local game so ST will no doubt fill the allocation - still got to be in it to win it and all that.

Anyone know when we will hear if we have got tickets for the semi, i've applied, would have thoiught we would know by now! or have i not got one ?

As for the membership loyalty points i think its about right. if you spend money on tickets you get more points. They do make balls up sometimes though, a few years ago they offered 10 loyalty points if you went to a youth fa cup match at the lane against arsenal. the tickets were only £5 or something, thiunk i heard we sold about 20,000 tickets, can't have been more than about 5,000 there though. easy money for the club but a bit unfair if you think it could cost you £500+ to to get those points if you went to the catagory 'A' games.

Emailed the ticket office to ask this earlier, and got the following response:
Hello

The announcement is due to be made over the next 2 days.

Costs me well over 300 quid every time I go to watch Spurs (from N.Ireland)...5 or 6 times a season, so its pretty hard to rack up decent levels of loyalty points..

Just the way the cookie crumbles, but I would say it costs me near 2k a year to watch Spurs half a dozen times Eek

When I was a wee nipper I was living in Crouch End and my Dad was bringing me all the time.

Admittedly Hotel costs and booze account for a lot of that!

Apparantly not. According to the site I think it said that all ST holders have got a ticket and members can still apply (up to 5pm Monday maybe?) for the remaining tickets.

I was issued with 2 central restricted view tickets and have given them back to the club.

It'll probably be a relatively high cut off point being local but it's also on ESPN so there might be less demand.

I was only on the ST waiting list for a season and got mine. The reason being the introduction of One Hotspur and scrapping of the old ST list. I was quick to renew as a bronze member and got offered a ST the following season!

I do think the way of allocating is the fairest way. I'm not a fan on the way loyalty points are allocated mind you. Living in Birmingham could see you notch up 13 points a season by going to 3 away games with relatively cheap ticket prices and very little travel required. Similar in London would be to spend £60 a ticket at other London grounds and get a single point or 3 if you're lucky! I suppose basing points on distance + date is a bit too much to ask though!!!

Nearly same for me. Student, no job, living in Germany trying my best to bring me and sometimes girlfriend (still going to school) to some games. Managed to go to Manchester and visit city and Stoke vs. Spurs, was possible to finance Spurs vs. Everton and going to the last game of the season against Fulham. I spent about 600 pounds for 3 Spurs games this season and think it is worth it and would be going to Wembley for sure.....if there would be a possibility for a ticket which is not more expensive than 100 pounds.

But with this ticketing system (I don't know a better solution and accept it as fair in a way) I have no chance at all ever to get the chance to support my club at Wembley through Loyality points system.

Maybe a possibility a lottery system for 1000-2000 tickets for Bonze members with at least 30/50 LPs
