Tour of the emirates
My girlfriend works for a very corporate firm in the city who love their flashy soirées, and she took me as a plus one to the opening of the new 'Woolwich suite' which included pretty buff canapés (mini steak sandwiches, tomato, goats cheese and parma ham mini quiches, champagne etc) followed by a presentation (exciting) and then a tour of the stadium from an arsenal legend..
..having only a red star (not a gold one) we got Sammy Nelson (not Charlie George), and saw the ground, changing rooms, entrance etc).. and on several occasions i wanted to answer Sammy back; he kept saying "Because of course everyone copies arsenal".:bs: With regards to numbers on their shirts or stadiums etc..
..and I thought to myself, errr no, didn't the arse up shop and move from south london to our manor? Didn't they 'take on' our style of play? So regardless of how successful they have been in recent years and at the risk of sounding like a spurs fan clutching to history and not the now, spurs we're the originals in North London. They were the flair team of the early part of last century (as well as several interludes during it!)... it was tough enduring his boastful tirades, about how great the stadium is and how it was ontime and such a money making outfit..
..i rinsed as much champers as i could, resisted the urge of pooing on the pitch, and wore my spurs membership pin with pride under my suit lapelle!:shake:
