I am surprised so few people have suggested Modric. A truly magical player I could quite happily watch a match just concentrating on him.
As other posters have mentioned, when they move onto "bigger and better" things they lose out, Bale was close for me but he moved onto Madrid and tarnished his legacy.

All I remember of players like VDV is they were spurs through and through which leaves a real lasting legacy in my eyes. Legends the lot of them.

Regardless of them moving on to bigger and better, the reason for picking Modric makes sense.

Hes by far the best footballer I've ever watched play for this club. And as I stated, when he didn't get his move he got on with things and was phenomenal and earned his big move to Madrid.

Criminally underrated by so many, then and it seems still, how we only got £30m for him I'll never know. If he was here now he'd cost someone over 150m.

Remember when some people would say "he's too small" to make it

Newcastle had a chance to sign him a couple of months before we actually signed him, but some of their board members figured that he was never gonna make it in the PL because of his physique. Keegan was their manager at the time and he really wanted him.

I'm just too young to remember Hoddle... My first real memory is Gazza and he was the reason I supported Spurs but having for a long time watched clips of Hoddle he would have been my favourite player. He would have been remembered like Platini and Zidane if he was french. Such a shame England screwed him over as a player and the press destroyed him as a manager because he should be remembered as one of the best ever... makes scholes and gerrard look like David Batty.

Scholes was an incredibly gifted player in his own right and one of the best English midfielders of all time, but also fucked over by terrible managers of the national team.

I loved Mabbutt, King, Klinsmann and Ginola, but my favourite is Dembele. What a powerhouse of a player. We not been the same since he left.

Even though his best days were behind him I reckon we win the CL Final either Dembele in the team.
