Brazilian authorities are not allowing travellers from UK, Northern Ireland, South Africa and India into Brazil. Yeah they're clubs were against them going and the travel laws in each country changes quite regularly, but that's been the law in Brazil since before they arrived. The brazlian players from UK didn't travel because their clubs or the PL didn't let them, not because of restrictions in Brazil. CBF wanted them to go and they complained about it. I just mentioned 2 cases of players that traveled to Brazil from the UK in the last days and had no quarantine
Cavani didn't go to Uruguay either, and that country has no restrictions
TBF the Argentinian FA made everyone goWe shouldn't have let them go but the club has historically been fair to their players and always let them go on intl duty think we should have put our foot down this time though.
The Argentina team is going back to Argentina now. There's a game against Bolivia next week, but a reported just said the 4 PL players could be allowed to go back earlier
TBF the Argentinian FA made everyone go
As far as Im aware other FA's told their players to go until clubs stepped in whereas Argentinian FA told everyone if they dont go this will be held against them in the World CupWe pay their wages though so we could have said no, they belong to us, not them. I guess though we are willing to placate our players especially the South American players, football is more like a religion over there and they wouldn't be too happy to miss out.
I think now going forward of this shit show isn't sorted then we have every right to hold them back purely for safety reasons.

The Copa America squad is all there
It isnt but I guess we felt we had to keep them happyThat's not our problem.

Pithy reply aside, it quite obviously is our problem. That's not our problem.
I know but I was just highlighting the other FA's didn't put as much pressure, most South American players come from Brazil in the PLYeah that's what I said lol
@Shadydan You don't think the it's a problem for Spurs that Argentinian FA told their players it would be held against them if they missed qualifiers? Strange as it directly led to those players travelling for said qualifiers.Pithy reply aside, it quite obviously is our problem.
Genuine question, does FIFA rules not apply here?We pay their wages though so we could have said no, they belong to us, not them. I guess though we are willing to placate our players especially the South American players, football is more like a religion over there and they wouldn't be too happy to miss out.

@Bluto Blutarsky Yeah, I'll wait for a more reputable news outlet than EiF soccer on Twitter to report the facts of what actually went down and how.all speculation
Did the clubs just make a request and it was up to the players? If that’s the case, it’s not an agreement.Genuine question, does FIFA rules not apply here?
Principle 1.1. says: "Clubs are obliged to release their registered players to the representative teams of the country for which the player is eligible to play on the basis of his nationality if they are called up by the association concerned. Any agreement between a player and a club to the contrary is prohibited."
It was aimed more at the post I was replying to which said effectively we pay the players and they belong to us so we should have said no.Did the clubs just make a request and it was up to the players? If that’s the case, it’s not an agreement.
So less of a punishment than letting them go and then have to isolate. Here’s what FIFA can do if the clubs have not reached an agreement with the national FAs (this is in relation to the first 4 clubs that refused)
Unless the four clubs strike a deal with the relevant national associations for their players to remain in the UK, Fifa regulations state they will be banned from fielding them for five days after the current international window.
