Cherki looks a phenomenal talent at only 20 but he should in absolutely no way be considered for a WF position. As a back up to Maddison on the other hand 100% yes. Shame he plays for Lyon. Also kind of surprised Kubo didn't make his list.

I wouldn't be against Jota as its someone Ange already knows well. He also knows Anges system well too. So you'd assume it would be a seemless transition into the team.

Especially with Richy potentially heading the other way too, you just never know if Richy heads to the same team as Jota and vice versa. Of course we would make money back for Richy.

We would bring in someone who Ange trusts and replace someone who isn't working in the system fully.

This would then free up some space in the summer for a truly elite attacker you would assume. With perisic on the way out as well, we would then have Gil, Solomon, Johnson, Kulusevski, Jota as our wide options. It's also possible one Gil or Solomon may not make it here so would need one more either way.

It all depends on how high Ange thinks Jota's ceiling is.

We need someone who is a level up from our other starting 11 players as well as an excellent 2 way dribbler. He also has more of an eye for goal than our other wingers. Jota is definitely a much better 2 way dribbler than what we have but I don't know what his level truly is.

If we go for him I'd trust in Ange that he thinks he can really elevate our starting 11.

Wasn't one of the issues with his transfer in the summer that he wants to play regularly? That will continue to be a major stumbling block to us getting him I think.

The Gift Orban hype train seems to have well and truly died. Think he has scored 2 goals in his last 15 games or so and starts most games on the bench now.

Probably, considering Lange only just started most links are probably wide of the mark. You’d think at the very least we would be tracking him tho.

He impressed me last season and so I kept an eye on him against us and he was very good on the ball. Quick too. I think he’d be a good option as a left back.

I like Robinson too. His deal at Fulham ends in 2028 though, so they would be under no pressure to let him go cheaply.

Thats my big issue with it, if we didn't have Solomon or Gil then i'd be more open to it but at this point its so evident that we need to add some top quality to the front line. We need a Maddison type addition to the front line and Jota isn't that. Like you say he isn't a bad player but at this point we have to be looking higher if we want to push for the top IMO. We don't need more squad players in attack.

Yeah precisely. I feel like the wingers we currently have are in the sort of mid-range or upper-mid-range, but we need at least one in that higher bracket.

I think the players we have can do really well to contribute to and uphold the style of play we have, but I'm not sure we have anyone who greatly scares oppositions or who has a good eye for goal. I would love for us to have that threat alongside Maddison and Son in the centre.

Almost reminds me a little bit of the situation we've had for years in having Kane but not really adding the necessary level of quality around him to really propel ourselves forward and reach a whole different level. Hopefully we can recognise the situation we now find ourselves in and really push the boat out regarding a couple of positions.

It's crazy to think how much a really really good wide player would almost (IMO) very much change the dynamic but like said, I thought similar things regarding acquisitions when Kane was here and they never really came. Still have to see what Johnson can offer after a run of games too though in fairness.

Of this , I really like Savio - but unfortunately, he is in City group books and City have first refusal on him.
Barca also want him and rumoured fee is 17m but they are also trying for Nico Williams on free transfer in summer.

Cherki is good but has attitude issues.

Lots of talk about various players here but I’d be massively surprised if we didn’t use January to add some more known quantities like Lloyd Kelly to give us CB/LB cover, Kalvin Phillips as a replacement for Hjobjerg, and Jota to strengthen the frontline.
