He only has 2 caps for Brazil in his career - and those over the last 2 years.... I do not see that he's in Brazil's plan for next summer...

Bullet dodged, sign Lamela up, and keep Bale (y)

Fernandinho didn't get capped much either and he walked into city's starting xi

Maybe it was playing in the Ukraine and not his ability that has kept him out?

There was a .gif picture doing the rounds before of Willian unsure of which club to sign for and then Sandro doing his PAIN routine and then Willian signing. Has anyone got a link to it because it's not working anymore.

I don't get the whole negativity regarding him not having many caps for Brazil. I mean, Brazil obviously have a great squad anyway even though I don't know who has directly been chosen over Willian. But to me it sounds a bit like saying, 'glad we didn't sign Fabregas, he can't even get into the Spain team'. Like Franchise said, I don't think playing in isolated leagues has helped either.

30 million for a player who does not score many is a lot we need a number 10 who chips in with goals and creates.

Will be interesting to see if there is any comeback post end of the transfer window.

Didn't Chelski have a blow out with Manu a few years back when they signed Mikel, with Manu claiming they had already completed the purchase. If I remember rightly whilst it was never going to change the outcome, I think Chelski paid compo and not just a plane ticket or medical costs, although don't get your hopes up as I think signatures were made on that one.

He is in direct competition with Oscar... Neymar has the no10 position wrapped up (I hear he's not bad) hulk plays on the right and it would be between Oscar/Bernard/Willian for the LWF position

Neymar played on the left and moves all over the place and Oscar was playing more centrally in a number 10 role. Given the way both Neymar and Willian like to play all across the width of the pitch it's perfectly possible that those 3 could play together in the same team.

It didn't work, so that's appropriate

Well Chelsea can laugh all they want but if Tottenham had done something like that with AVB having a press conferance like that I would be furious with my own club.

Losing Willian was a blow and I am sad to see him joining them but thats it. What I am furious about is how it came to be. Had Chelsea made a bid same time Spurs and Pool did no problem.

I hope to god City takes the title this year and every god damn year ahead - until we can compete of course. I even want Arsenal to win anything before Chelsea and United - thats how far it has gotten :/

if he miraculously 180s and signs for us itd be quite funny seeing all the backtracking. ive come to the conclusion that all football fans (collectively) are the same. minutes after joses press conference he went from the player pushing us to a title challenge to an overrated mercenary. even some shocking comments wishing injuries upon him.
