Maybe a call from KJ took place to get RA to put in a cheeky bid just to drive us up, then Baldini/Levy told KJ to fucking do one and Chelsea were stuck with the bid? Of course if they're planning to offload Mata as part of a Rooney deal (for the love of everything, WHY) then all of that is probably bollocks.
