Will Daws just slot back in?

Looking at the game yesterday I noticed Harry subbed Defoe off 1st, presumably to give him rest before the possibility of 1st team action. Then he subbed Lennon, which all made sense.

But then he subbed Dawson, when I might have thought it would be better to give him a full game. I got to thinking, will Daws just slot into the pecking order ahead of Kaboul where he was last season? Or should he have to wait for his chance?

It's not so much about what we are thinking as fans (personally I'd pick King, Kaboul, Gallas, Dawson, Bassong in that order), but what do you think Harry is thinking?

I don't see both of them getting regular 1st team starts if there are no injuries, so who will Harry favour? I reckon whoever misses out will not want to stay long as they are both good players who would command a 1st team spot at other high profile clubs (liverpool for example).

Them both being fit might create an unwelcome problem for us in the summer.

No way will Dawson get in ahead of Kaboul straight away. Kaboul's been immense this season.

hope not.

King > Kaboul > Gallas > Dawson = Bassong

i think one of our main reasons we are playing such good high intensity football with 60+% of possession is because of the high line we are able to play because of our quick defenders.

If we try doing this with dawson we would get horribly exposed on the counter similar to how terry and co did at chelsea with a high line.

Agree with this. No disrespect to Dawson but imo he's 4th in line

If everyone's fit Daws is a backup CB in my opinion.

King and Kaboul are what I'd prefer to be playing. Gallas backing up if either of them can't make it. Then Daws and then Bassong.

Caulker could upset that mix next season. fingers crossed.

No. Kaboul has been a big part of our success this season so far and should keep his place. He's better than Daws anyway imo.

If any of King, kaboul or Gallas have anextended period out then it's good that Daws is back.

I think he will come straight back in because of injuries, but when everyone is fit I think he is 4th choice.

Poor old Daws, player of the season when we qualified for the Champions league, now he's considered equal to Bassong! Maybe he'll remind us all how good he can be as a player and a leader.

Better than bassong, but 4th choice for me. Atm it's irrelevant anyway as he will start with kaboul against Everton.

I just hope that Dawson and Kaboul as a partnership will have matured because they were awful together the first time round.

King and Gallas are injured, so it looks like he's playing v Everton. But yeh I'd play definetly King and Kaboul over Dawson. He could replace Gallas though, it'll be dependent on how he performs from now on... It's just Kaboul and Dawson don't seem to be the best partnership.

For me:
King > Kaboul > Dawson/Gallas > Bassong
