I understand he is also on Question of Sport tonight. We'll see if his sporting knowledge is any better than his sporting ability!

The sad fact is, none of them are currently good enough for a top 4 assault. Whether a top class partner playing alongside one of them would make a difference remains to be seen. If one or any of them is going to be first choice next season they are going to have to improve.

If Zokora continues to improve the rate he has been this season, then maybe it's him.

I agree that JJ and TT is a good combination we can consider. TT is surely a better option as a holding midfielder in the sense that he is the most complete we have.

We can start with that and thudd or zoko on the bench. Taarabt/ rose should be given a shot as Malbranque does look like he's reached the end of his tether. Mind you, he has been the player putting in the most effort for most of the season so I'm not surprised. Only surprised that people are starting to criticise him AGAIN and dismiss him even after they've seen his tremendous contribution for most of the season.

boo to the anti -JJ brigade :)

JJ is our best mid so don't be dissing him :)

if Zokora keeps improving at his current rate he'll probably be nearly as good as JJ in about 20 years time :)

thanks to all the JJ supporters :) I wouldn't mind Kaboul starting too if fit enough - I'm afraid I'm giving up on Daws as anything but a back up player

to me keeper & CB are priority signings in the summer

In one sense yeah (we need a keeper we have confidence in and we need some crock cover) but I disagree. Ramos WILL buy a CM and it's who he buys that will determine our season next year.

lets hope the couple of games out will help his form which was terrible the last 2 games he played. not long ago though was it that he was running games and being the player he has always promised to be.

fair point Leffe - but I still think keeper and CB are priorities
but yep we need another mid too

I think our central midfield is more than first priority-wise. The fact that I'm on constant Brown Alert whenever Zokora has the ball, or when Huddlestone's trying to tackle is testament to that.

fair enough Stoof- time will tell etc- it seems to me our prime weakness is defence - but of course defending is a team responsibility etc -

I'll happily say keeper CB and mid are all priorities - but I won't shift further than that :)

i think the only place for hudd in the team would be in a team that does not have berba anymore.. he can only play effectively and consistently behind the front 2, or behind the lone striker, essentially as a very different kind of fulcrum to berba (but also v similar in some ways) playing the ball forwards, left, right and having pot shots. i say this, theoretically, would be the only place for him, like berba - he doesn't offer much in a defensive manner (not counting set pieces ).

of course, he can do ''a job'' in midfield and at cb, heck, even on the wing.. but unless his game reading improved, he could never become a top class cb, and would need to improve his game reading +mobility to become even a useful centre midfielder.

as for jenas.. hmm.

I'm a big fan of JJ and think he is unmistakably our best midfielder but I don't think he has ever ran games. He's not suited to it and when the onus is on him to do it he plays poorly. He needs someone alongside him who can dictate the tempo of a game and leave him to get about the park. Sadly, Carrick would be the ideal.

well I was pleased before the game that JJ was back - and I'm pleased after the game as well -:)

he showed again why he is our best mid (tho on the day probably Zoko and Steed slightly edged it - but JJ has done more overall for Spurs - and will continue to do so)

also Daws showed again why a CB along with a keeper is a priority signing - he really isn't up to it, except as back up, for me

And I'm not relying on King - no way he should be seen but anything as a 'bonus player' - at least until we get 30+ games in a season out of him again

I'd say JJ's return was positive, came onto the pitch got himself a nice assist...

too right Blotto - we have missed him and as I've been saying recently - neither Zoko or hudd will be keeping him out of the first team - except for normal rotation
