Soldado misses way too many chances for my liking. Adebayor is better, I accept he is not playing well at the moment but he brings more to the table. Soldado is food to defenders.

I think Chadli seems to have a proper striker's understanding and anticipation which is why he's getting in good positions for goals. That's invaluable. Getting a good run in the team seems to be really benefitting him in that.

But I agree with 'better off than on' - watching him run on the counter today was like watching someone mime walking against a strong wind...
Adebayor was the same as well, except there was wind, well Im guessing there was since he struggled to shoot when he was through

We all know that Adebayor at his best is close to unplayable. That period of games after Sherwood took over reminded us of what he's capable of. Unfortunately more often than not he has all the urgency of a demotivated koala.

Kane has started the season well, and looks like a genuine prospect. Not sure he's quite ready to lead the line (especially as he seems more suited to playing a bit deeper), but I certainly hope to see him getting more game time.

Like one of Townsend's speculative efforts, I was over the moon when we signed Soldado last summer. Sadly he was used in a system that didn't play to his strengths, which seems to have damaged his confidence as well as his reputation among Spurs fans. I'd love to see him get a proper run of games under Pochettino, as I still believe he's more than capable of becoming a star player for us.

This season so far its Kane, though he hasn't been absolutely stellar.

To be honest for home games I'd like to see us go back to the Adebayor & Kane partnership that we saw at the end of last season. Both can alternate between the 9 and 10 roles and they struck up a good understanding and gave us a presence and threat in the box from crosses.

Who would you drop of Eriksen, Chadli and Lamela ?

I could see Eriksen being put back on the left where TS played him, Kane as no 10 and Lamela on the right. However Eriksen seems to have been off form this season whereas Chadli has been on better form.

Instinctively I'm not sure I really like Chadli, Kane, :Lamela as the 3 AM's for some reason...

They're all missing something. Kane looks like a good finisher but his hold up play isn't that great; Soldado has an incredible touch but goes missing in games up top on his own; Adebayor has regressed so tremendously that I'm not sure what he's good for anymore but if he gets back on form then he's the halfway point between Kane and Soldado.

We really need a striker in January.

I think I find it more notable with Chadli because he looks like he should be such a supreme athlete, whereas Ade has always seemed to have a daddy-long-legs-awkwardly-fleeing-a-hoover style on the move.

But yes, there does seem to be a general air of comedy calamity affecting all our forward players. Lamela will probably score his first goal and get squashed by an animated Monty Python foot.

Soldado is the best striker at the club but he has never recovered from the clusterfuck of the first half of last season, where he probably was passed to about 3 times in 10 games.

I still think he ticks all the boxes if he can find a bit of confidence and form.

Ade turns up when it suits him. When he had something to prove last season he was great.

It's a shame he can't do it constantly

I would say soldado as I don't rate kane. Really don't think he will ever be good enough.

Townsend needs to lose some confidence and Soldado needs to gain some. If only there was some way to swap between them.

So why doesn't Pochettino play Soldado? It seems even Kane is ahead of him in the pecking order. Sorry but from what I have seen Soldado is not the answer.

I'd like to see us having Bobby playing off Kane in a couple of home games & work a midfield formation around them two.
Can't be any worse than our current failings up top and it's the only option we haven't tried....

Whoever isn't playing the best out of the three of them. To be honest my whole team would be just all out attack - I'd be tempted to play Eriksen and Lamela inverted on each wing and then both fullbacks seriously advanced, and in Walker's absence and Dier and Naughton not comfortable providing width on the right I'd be trying things like Lennon from right back to see how that went. Maybe that's a bit too much experimentation... But for home games against the cannon fodder of the league I think we should be taking more risks and ramping up the pressure.

Soldado has only started one league game with Eriksen and Lamela in support of him. That was Southampton last year, which won, and where Soldado played quite well. Soldado has NEVER started a game with Chadli, Eriksen, and Lamela. Overwhelmingly when Soldado has started, it has been with Townsend and Lennon in support, with a hodgepodge of other attacking players (Holtby, Sigurdsson, Kane) in support.

I'd like to see Soldado start one solitary game with Chadli, Eriksen, and Lamela in support. Next weekend is as good as any for him to get a chance. Let's see if there is any validity to what many of us think when it comes to him being a good fit with our other three attacking starters.

Goat.

It took Drogba months to recover properly from a bout of malaria; perhaps that is the reason for Ade's appalling lethargy? Otherwise, he's just a massive ****.
