However we have to face the bore of the pundits, if we do continue to keep pace then we will get the usual "bottle" and "squad depth" comments when we don't win it. If we do win it, at least these idiots will have to come up with some new bland cliches.
I don't know about squad depth, I've never heard any pundit say that and TBF I've not really heard many pundits use the 'bottle thing either but I wouldn't take issue with any pundit for calling us 'legends'. When you get a number of posters on here calling us 'legends' you can hardly complain about a pundit saying it as well :D

?
I've heard one or two mention if we get injuries to key players (at the same time) Kane Son Erriksen or Dele etc, we'd have problems. We DON'T have the quality replacements for any of them right now!!

I thought Harry Redknapp, and whoever the other pundit was, dealt with the squad depth issue perfectly after the game. Harry ridiculed people saying we had depth problems and said ‘just look at their bench’ and also added another set of top players didn’t even travel.

We never will have the quality replacements for them as they are that good.

That has nothing to do with depth though.

I honestly don't understand this stupidity of 'IF' Kane Son Eriksen Dele Vertgonghen Dembele were all out injured.

The same goes to everyone else in world football you take the best players out any team and they would suffer. Take Messi, Ronaldo, Salah Van Dijk, Fernandinho De Bruyne/Sterling, Hazard William, Aubameyang Lacazette, De Gea Rashford the list goes on.

Difference is that we've had them all out this season except Kane most of them at the same time.

Edit: someone has disagreed but it is true.

poch, the players and even most fans have hardly mentioned the injury situation that's the good thing. it just hasn't been a problem, probably thanks to sissoko, but it hasn't been.

All at the same time - It's as if they expect Lloris to drive the team minibus after quaffing at the grape juice!

I cannot believe any pundits would question our squad depth. This would make a fascinating 1st XI vs 2nd XI game in training. In fact, there is no clear 1st XI or 2nd XI, with only Lloris, Eriksen, and Kane definite starters when fit.

Lloris
Trippier Alderweireld Vertonghen Davies
Dembele Dier
Eriksen Dele Son
Kane
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Llorente
Moura Lamela
Winks Skipp
Wanyama
Rose Sanchez Foyth Aurier

On the subject of squad depth. Which would you prefer? squad size was 27 vs current 30

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1981–82_Tottenham_Hotspur_F.C._season

or

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018–19_Tottenham_Hotspur_F.C._season#Current_squad

Current squad most definitely. With the 1981 squad its maybe slightly easier to name a great first 11, but quality subs off the bench?
If anything i'd say our current 1st eleven is almost as good, but theres alot more squad players i'm happy to see playing.
Clearly the stuff about squad depth is nonsense. I'd say if a spurs squad (inc bit part players) measures up to the early 80s one, then its got to be pretty good.

Cool, I haven't that's all :D

Neville used it after the game on Thursday when he instantly dismissed us as contenders. I believe there have been a few recently, it's been bugging me because our depth is pretty much what has kept our season going.

Liverpool seem to have less weaknesses than us now, but I think they'd struggle even more than us if they get key injuries. I'd quite like to see their 'next-level' depth tested to be fair...

Liverpool has a shit squad! They can’t Even name a decent eleven? Millner, wijnaldum and Hendo is not Hugh quality and we would be laughed at if they were our midfield.

They have NON-proven Keita and Fabinho AS back-ups.

Their back-up CBs are considered crap Even by their own supporters. They don’t have any cover for fullbacks.

They don’t Even have cover for striker...
