Even the one Chelsea fan I know is supporting us. I’d imagine he’s in the minority for that lot.
Have stuck Google translate on forums of a few other big to big-ish European clubs whilst on this long train to the south of Spain as a way to find a cheaper flight than going direct from Madrid. Couldn't really be arsed to look at the Arsenal/Man Utd etc forums as they're likely to be extremely biased one way or the other, but I was interested to know how neutrals took the final.
Without posting all of the individual quotes - there seem to be a few common themes people agreed upon:
1. It was almost certainly the most boring final of the decade. Not really something I'd appreciated myself as the tension of the game meant we were all on edge, but as a neutral there wasn't much to take from it particularly in the first half.
2. The handball seems to be dividing opinion. I think probably about 50/50 split overall, although the line often seems to be that it was a "harsh" decision because of the way the rules are than a blatant failure by the referee. His performance has been widely criticised overall however.
3. Poch's decision to start Kane is generally agreed upon, even though lots of people have said he didn't look fit. However, the decision to leave Lucas out absolutely shocked some neutrals.
4. On forums of several big teams, including the likes of Real and Bayern, people were widely praising Son's performance and saying they'd love to see him playing for them. He seems to be the only one who has come out of this with real credit.
5. There is a general consensus that we've done very well to get that far in the first place - people seem to like Tottenham's approach and the way we're going about doing things. However, Liverpool appear to have increased in stature as a result, the bigger teams were calling them a "major European rival" now.
From what I've seen on twitter, Liverpool fans have been very humble in victory.
Have a read through the replies:
Perhaps this cup final and the good feelings between fans of both teams before the match, has put to bed the ill-feeling between the two sets of fans.
My West Ham mate was saying it was embarrassing the spurs and Liverpool fans were enjoying themselves together before the game. I asked him if he'd prefer for them to be throwing bottles and tables at one another instead. No response. Says it all really.Exactly the same in Madrid too, both fanbases were mixing and there was no negative atmosphere at all. Good to see
Utter scum, I wonder what George Galloway would have said if Yossi Benayoun, Ronnie Rosenthal or Avi Cohen were still playing for Liverpool?

There’s an irony in someone in a party called the “respect party” being a fucking complete anti semite.Spurs released a statement apparently:
‘A club statement to Sky Sports News said: "It’s astounding in this day and age to read such blatant antisemitism published on a social platform by someone who is still afforded air time on a radio station on which he has previously broken broadcast impartiality rules."

Showed just how much an idiot he is by spelling Shankly with an 'e'.I wonder if George has got the taste of Saddam Hussein's arsehole out of his mouth yet.
It is really unexpected, but fair play to most Liverpool fans. After the final, my Liverpool friends are are all very humble and respect us.
