I can't believe people are still banging on about ticketless fans pushing in!!! This has been proved wrong by the Hillsborough enquiry. They have countless hours of footage from BBC cameras, police CCTV footage, club cameras etc. Not to mention thousands of pictures from journalists. All this was analysed by investigators, and head counts taken of those on the leppings lane terrace.
At No point did the numbers on the terrace exceed the amount of tickets issued.
That myth has been around for far to long, I was on that same terrace in 81 and if it wasn't for lack of pens and the police opening the gates it would be Spurs fans being lied about for years.

So how did the crush happen then? Did liverpool fc sell too many tickets?

Seriously?

There were numerous gates that were closed and instead of opening them they were left shut so a high number of fans all went through one gate leading to massive overcrowding in one area.

I suggest you watch one of the documentaries or read from the actual enquiry.

You are still spinning the bs from the police reports and The Sun that has been proven to be wrong, criminally so.

Let’s start with Heysel. This stadium was known to be in a decrepit state with even Arsenal players complaining bitterly about the stadium earlier that season.

........the British government did not agree with UEFAs verdict, and sent its own team to Heysel to investigate the stadium, with the Chief officer citing in his report stating, and I quote ‘…the deaths were attributable very, very largely to the appalling state of the stadium’.

......Despite this knowledge, the club took this hit on the chin, with apologies and spent a considerable time trying to repair relations with Juventus.

So it was the stadium that did it. Spontaneous self-destruction in an attempt to attribute blame to those nice Liverpool fans. I knew it wouldn't have anything to do with Liverpool fans charging Juve fans, thus causing the wall to collapse.

Liverpool FC and its fans as victims. Who would've thought?

Can we fuck off with the heysel talk? It was a tragedy caused by muppets. Our fans were kicking heads around europe as well though. Lets just leave it, rather than use it as a dig at another team.

Spot on. This has nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with the match on Saturday.

This is the bit that I find galling;

During the 6 year ban that ensued, Liverpool is the only team in England that would have consistently qualified for Europe, and so a Golden age of its players were deprived from European competition at this time. So while the facts showed there was some fan culpability here, UEFA did not come down lightly on Liverpool or its fans. With some even seeing jail time.

No recognition of the damage done to other English clubs. In fact it’s making their star players the victims too!!

Everton suffered the most as a consequence of Heysel. Between 1984-1988, this was their glory era. 1986-87 when they pipped us to the league only to be prevented from European football due to their neighbours across the park. Since this era, they have been woeful.

Spot on. Remember who was the first English team to export fighting at football...
