We certainly don't have Richard Scudamore saying how great it would be for us to win the Premier League, like he did with Liverpool. And they have then benefited from, what 23/24 offside goals, and how many ropey penalty decisions?

Scandalous really.

This sort of thing really annoys me, we had it a lot in the Leciester season, managers, players all coming out in support of Leciester. I think if anyone associated with football comes out in support of a team (that isn't their own) they should face a ban, I don't see it being any different to betting on football.

Anyone involved in the game's authorities, certainly.

Do you not remember the Swansea manager, Italian can't remember his name) wanted his "good friend" to win the league and then decided to play without a striker? I may be completely wrong, but I don't recall him doing that at any other point in that season.

That's true. But you cold argue that that was an action rather than words.

What happened to that manager? Was there any fallout?

I may not be remembering correctly, but I thought he had said he wanted Leciester to win it in the interview leading up to that game and then played without the striker. Other than between Spurs fans I don't recall any fallout.

Anyway, I don't want to derail the thread, again... ?

Think it just shows how poor officiating has become in general. Every club is getting terrible decisions. Some fans will tell you they get more than others. But, we all do. And a high number currently as well.
No it doesn't. It reflects the increased amount of scrutiny that all officials are under in an age when every decision that they make is subject to analysis from several angles at different speeds. Fans of every club have always believed that bad decisions usually go against them, and this analysis - viewed through biased eyes - helps to confirm their belief.

That was the game when Williams passed the ball to Mahrez just outside the penalty area and let him score, when he could have passed it literally anywhere else safely.

Going into the season with 1.5 fit central midfielders was always criminal. Absolutely ridiculous. I have no idea what the club thought they were doing by not bolstering the squad, especially after they sold Dembele. Leaving us with winks and Sissoko, and a somewhat cooked Wanyama is just stupid management. Never been more angry than right now about this

My gooner mate messaged me “Spurs ???” when Sterling scores in injury time.

Hahahahahahahahahaha - haven’t heard from him since I responded with “premature as usual”

City reddit:

They fought their heart out despite the early mistakes.

sissoko time wasting. for me first half should have had 6 minutes extra time

Thanks Laporte.
the one game he decides to drop the ball.
Twice.
3 times. At fault for the Llorente goal too. Fucking ridiculous

Not a legitimate result. Offside my fucking ass
Fair play to Spurs, VAR fucked us

It’s Pep’s fault we’re out.
You can’t play a weakened team for a leg in the CL quarters. Subs came too late in both games.
Might not be a popular opinion but this is on him. Best chance we’ll ever get to win the CL and we’ve fucking bottled it.

bit poetic innit, we're all calling for VAR in CL after last year, and now we got fucked by it

Do we blame the team selection for this? I think Pep might've just lost Sané in addition to Gundogan. Aguero, Sterling, Bernardo and de Bruyne can all hold their heads high, they've got nothing to be ashamed of after their performances.
And much more crying about VAR and handball and not too many props to our team and players.
