Spot on from Redknapp... "The race for top 4 is going to be a pillow fight. There are going to be so many mistakes, teams throwing away points, that's how it is going to be. I don't look at either side with a great deal of confidence."

That's why it's not over yet... at all.

I’m so sick to death of being the punchline of all jokes in this league. Failed title challenges, multiple domestic semi final and final losses, a champions league loss, winning absolutely nothing when being clearly the best team in the country for 2 years…

This has been the first time I’ve genuinely cared about Spurs since the Champions League final. They’ve done it again. I’m sick to death of supporting this football club full of habitual losers.

Yep. It is affecting my mental health. I really struggle with it. Even West Ham fans lording it over us when they haven’t won a trophy in 40 years. I felt physically sick when Chelsea put in their worse performance in ten years against Arsenal. I ask myself “why always is?”

I’ve said before it starts at the top, this has gone on over countless managers and changes of players. Levy is not a winner.

Did people really think we were going to stay 4th each week and have it all our own way? It will still have twists and turns with 5 games to play. 2 weeks ago we won and everyone around us lost. We won 3 straight and Arsenal lost 3 straight. Now we lose 1 and draw 1 and Arsenal win 2 straight so it swings the other way. It was always going to be up and down, nobody is putting in title form and winning half a dozen games in a row aside from the top 2. Lets just wait and see what happens in the end and hope it swings back in our favour come the final game. If we end up in 4th then this is probably the best way to do it in terms of drama. It's not great for the nerves but will be worth it. Whichever side misses 4th will be gutted for sure but if we fail we're still top 6 and moving in the right direction. I just liken the situation to either having a game where you win 3-0 where you have no threat versus having a game where it's tight and you get a late winner. The latter is the more exciting situation and that's where we are now. That's what made the night in Ajax so special or the late double at Leicester. We will never do it the easy way.

We're currently in the middle of a bottle job.

Let's hope we can turn this around but I'm doubtful.

It’s a real shame West Ham have the semi but at least it evens out with Leicester. However Leicester have a much thicker squad than West Ham and can put out a pretty decent 2nd Xi. But West Ham are a pretty tough lot under Moyes would be much better if they beat Chelsea today and still think they have a shout.

Come on mate a team that has won a trophy already this season and are a whisker away from another three are hardly nearly men.
I know none of us like the term spursy but this will stick with us until or if we start achieving shit like teams of Liverpool's stature.

It’s just you using the term wrong that’s all. Yesterday wasn’t spursy for example. It was just us being shit. Plus Brentford’s record at home against the top teams is really good. Liverpool got a draw there.

Anyway, I’m probably setting myself up for fall, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we get something out of the Liverpool game. I know our record up there is terrible and everyone is expecting us to get pumped. Maybe it’s just because I’d love it if we were the ones who ruined their title charge.

If Chelsea lose today I really think they could get dragged in because of the cup final. They have United away this Thursday , with Everton ( fighting for their lives)away on the Sunday. Leeds away midweek before the cup final and Leicester home midweek after the cup final. If Rudiger remains out that’s a big problem for them.

I probably should be satisfied with that, but if Arsenal get fourth and we get fifth, there’s no way I can be.
I think this is it. If it was United we were battling with , I think we'd all be more relaxed.

Sounds petty but think I'm more annoyed about the boost they'll get from champs league than us not getting it.

Based on our squad , 5th is really the best we could have possibly expected but if Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham are all in CL next season the impact on us could be far more serious and long lasting than people realise.

Its not gone, but its out of our hands again. Arsenal’s to lose now, like it was ours to lose before we played Brighton, loads of football still to be played but we play like we have the last 2 games and yes it is gone.

Let’s also not forget that the last time arsenal were in this position the pressure got to them and they lost three games in a row they were expected to win.

Sorry mate I respectfully disagree the last two games we have indeed reverted to type that word I'm not allowed to say.
I was actually starting to think that we would lose the bottle job moniker but clearly that is beyond this club.
Whilst other teams may have or have not got results there doesn't mean we should be happy with that shit served up.
Brentford should easily had won 2-0 or 3-0 we were a disgrace yet again could not even muster a shot on goal disgusting.
Yet again we are handing an opportunity to other clubs this time it's arsenal who will go on and get fourth whilst everyone laughs at us and I'm sick of it so glad I didn't renew nor will next season.

Teams lose games though. See my post above yours for a perfect example. The terms spursy and bottling it are two different things, that’s all I’m trying to say.

Let’s see where we are when the music stops.

I’m sure there may well be unexpected results between now and the end of the season. However, the Chelsea Goons results did not surprise me even one tiny little bit, and anyone expecting West Ham to do us any favours with the biggest games in their recent history either side needs to have word with themselves. If you think Chelsea gifted wrapped easy goals on a silver platter tied up with pretty pink ribbons, wait till you see what West Ham have in store.

I cannot see us getting anything from Liverpool and if the last 2 performances are anything to go by it could be embarrassing

when all is said and done, we had it in our hands and we blew it when we decided to a man, to go on holiday last week against Brighton.

And Conte (as much as I love him) is not blameless either. His system is heavily reliant on wing backs and with Doherty injured), we dont have any (both Royal and Sess get a 1/10 for yesterday).

As has been said, it's not technically out of our hands, we win all our 5 remaining games we get 4th that is beyond doubt but what is equally beyond doubt is that is a very very big ask, because we will have to do something we've not done all season, win 5 on the trot and derail Liverpool on the form they are in. That would be some achievement to behold if we managed to pull it off and bag 4th in this manner.
