I like McKennie but I am so happy that we are signing Bissouma instead. I think he will suit our team much better and has the prem experience too.

Have to say that McKennie has come on leaps and bounds in his time at Juve.

Really didn’t rate him at Schalke, thought he was a good athlete but not much more.
However at Juve his ball playing has improved to no end and his quick progressive passing has become one of his best assets.
He’d also be a fantastic dressing room character.

Only question mark I’d have is his press resistance which I think is crucial for prem midfielders, but other than that I’d be delighted with the signing.
Just on this, fully believe that Bissouma far better than McKennie in nearly all aspects here that I praise.

But then to top it off, is one of the most press resistant players in the league!!

Supposedly out for 1 month (or 3-4 months depending on the source) with a dislocated shoulder. Thought he might have been one we went back in for if Juventus made some more signings but not to be now

I would rather we spent money on someone with more creativity. Either a deep lying playmaker, or someone who can play CM and break forward with purpose.

I have a hunch with Juves troubles he is coming in January.

Paratici is clearly a fan and from what I've seen the Juve fans aren't and they could do with freeing up cash.

Depends - if we are serious about using a 352 more frequently, we need another CM.
Indeed we do but we would need a playmaker not another B2B. We already have Skipp, Bentancur and Sarr for that. And I still wonder if Bissuma wouldn't be better suited to that role long term anyway. If we get another CM it has to be a creative minded player.

If Conte will actually play him then I don't see how this is a bad option. PEH and Bentancur are being driven into the ground with their current load. We need to have options Conte trusts to play entire matches and let PEH/Bentancur rest. Skipp and Bissouma are not fully there yet and Sarr/White may as well not exist.

What makes you think he would be any more "there" then Skipp or Bissouma. If anything he would likely be behind them.

I think you have to defer to Paratici and Conte's assessment in that regard. Clearly, Paratici loves McKennie. Many didn't think Bentancur would be what he has been. Hopefully this is another case like him.

Bissouma - Everyone thought he'd hit the ground running but that hasn't happened (at least not yet). Conte clearly has some doubts about his tactical nous.

Skipp - Conte clearly loves him and I think, with more time, he'll become a rotation option.

My broader point is that we do need more legitimate rotation options for those 2/3 midfield box-to-box players. With the amount of running they are expected to do in either of our preferred formations, I think recruiting another option like McKennie isn't the worst thing in the world.

As with all things, I think it all depends on McKennie's price vs what other options we are looking at. I do think we need more creativity. But if we could do that AND get McKennie for a bargain price (20-30m) then I think go for it.

I'm just not understand what the point of this would be, our deep midfield works pretty well with Bentancur and Hojbjerg, Skipp looked fantastic the other day for somebody whose been out for 8/9 months. Bissouma is getting up to speed. Meanwhile we have issues overloading from playing out from the back with real quality, we have issues with our RWB position, we have a lack of rotation option for Kane, we have lack of quality replacement for Kulusevki and we don't have an attacking midfielder who can bring more quality centrally in a midfield 3. This guy is not needed currently. He isn't fixing the issues.

He would be ahead of Skipp, and on current form, ahead of Bissouma.

I don’t think he is what we need short-term, but long term he is a better option than Hojbjerg - same engine, but more agility. They both can bring the intensity but Hojbjerg is a bit stiff, while McKennie is more dynamic.
