This thread would be even funnier it bc was still on here, we could’ve heard how avb’s football was the stuff dreams are made of and how hitler ain’t got shit on sherwood in terms of pure evil

Whatever happened to BC?

What for?

I’m not 100% the full story but it’s been covered before on here a few times, there’s a ‘ missing members’ thread in spurs chat that has a lot of stuff about it in there.

He was on tfc after here but I haven’t been on there for a while to know if he’s still posting there

My memory isn't what it used to be, but if I recall correctly, what went wrong after Harry's 'head was turned' by England was basically that Defoe, Adebayor, and Saha went ice cold throughout March and April. We played decent stuff throughout, and our forwards had chances every week - they just blew 'em.

Had they been merely adequate, we'd've cruised to 3rd - and 2nd was never on.

Ok, I've just had a look. In the nine games of April/May we dropped points in all but two. In those same nine games, we conceded a total of nine goals - the 1/game average being better than our season's overall pct (41 in 38). In those same nine games, we scored a total of eight (compared to 58 in the other 30 games). So it was definitely in attack where things went wrong - it's not as though we 'lost our shape'. Now, I love Defoe, so I don't mean to scapegoat him, but I seem to remember him missing chance after chance during that stretch - and Adebayor a fair few, as well. Unless my memory's shot, the chances were there - we just didn't take them.

The fact that this happened during the England speculation and Harry getting the blame for our form always seemed like adding 2+2 and coming up with 5 to me. Am I wrong? Were we really bad? Or did our striker just go cold?

We had a tougher run of games and in isolation a lot of the results were OK during that period. But the main problem was Lennon got injured and we had no replacement for him. We lost our fluidity going forward. But you're also right in the fact that Adebayor completely lost his shooting boots. We weren't creating as much but we did create a fair few CCC's that Adebayor simply failed to convert. Lennon came back for the last four games of the season and we W3 D1.

If we had invested that January we could have won the league.

I am not the biggest fan of Mr levy tbh. But avb was a joke, you cannot destroy something he built when that something pretty much amounted to nothing..
I always thought Mr levy should have been taken to task on exactly why he chose to employ avb..

He is doing his anti-sissoko agenda over there

Was never a huge fan. We played turgid football only for Bale to Bale us out in them games we never looked like scoring in. I think he was undermined by someone because his hand was forced to play Adebayor. I remember that screamer he scored at The Bridge, even though AVB cheered he looked quite pissed off secretly too

He’s on TFC now. He did tell me why he was banned, but it’s not something that can be shared. Nothing major anyway; just internal politics.

He’s had loads of abuse over there, but he’s still going and gaining support.

Yeah there’s a lot about this in the thread in general chat, someone pointed me over there the other day.

Yeh , he made situation worse for himself over there because he couldn't move with Sissoko's improvement , was showering abuse on him after his best performances . Also didn't move with Trippier's loss of form. People got fed up with the intransigence imo . He gave up doing a ratings thread a while back .Mebbe restarted I dunno .

His actual departure was down to me accidentally sending a concerned re SC direction PM back to mods via email instead of direct . Pretty sick about it tbh . The bosses here seem mad with him (not sure why) and seemed angry with me when I pleaded his case. So that's that :( .

I wouldn’t lose any sleep over that tbh this forum is better without BC it’s sad to say. Always came across as the deliberate antagonist/agent provocateur or even a WUM. Anyway, not nice to speak ill of the departed, just don’t think you need waste energy on guilt or whatever. ?

I think that's harsh. BC and I rarely saw eye to eye but at least he backed up his opinions with reasoning and logic. He also put an awful lot of effort into his posts. I don't think he was a WUM but I did get the impression he felt like he was a cut above everybody else and I think that's what got most people's backs up.

Back to the subject of AVB...My Mrs said she'd bang AVB over Poch, I'm fuming.

Your Mrs clearly has no taste... But it seems that that doesn't really need to be said... She is, after all, your Mrs... ;)

It's true, unfortunately (for her). I have a ginger beard like AVB, that must be her bag. I wonder if he also has a sub average penis size and is painfully honest to his own detriment.

He’s always struggled to shift his opinion despite mounting evidence. Doesn’t surprise me he ran into the same issues elsewhere. That said, I feel his banning was a huge loss to the forum as a spectacle, and my visits have definitely declined since he left. No doubt some will think that’s for the best too.

Don’t understand why it’s discussed in hushed tones though, it adds intrigue and glamour to from what I can tell is a fairly dull case of falling out with the mods. The whole “we can’t talk about it” angle on it is just plain weird from everyone.
