VDV vs Modric

I rate both hugely and think we would struggle hugely without either. Quite simply though, gut reaction, bias aside, who do you think has been more important to the team this season?

Well they have slightly different roles and play in different positions etc. but if I had to pick I have to say VDV because of the goals he's contributed as well as brilliant performances and we have been badly struggling for goals but I think if Modric had started in the form he's shown in the last 4 games or so it would be very very hard to choose.

This thread annoys me so much. Statistics and so called awards are situation based. VDV has always had a better exposure than Luka.

I like watching the dutch play, and think VDV is an excellent player, however Modric is simply better. I have seen both play a fair bit, and Modric is clearly the better player. Modric would get more games for Madrid than VDV.

so without seeing vdv play for spurs you still make the statement in saying modric would get more games for madrid than vdv.

Yes, because I had watched Modric for over a season week in week out as a season ticket holder and seen him pull the strings in midfield helping us get our highest ever finish.

I had seen some of VDV playing. But there would be obvious bias based on sheer volume of time seen playing.

I still stand by my point that VDV would get more gametime in a Madrid side that let VDV go. As for at Spurs, they should both play every single match.

I'm not hurt. Im a member of a football forum, where I come to debate. I enjoy it. I enjoy talking football. This poll was just to get a feel for the boards opinion, and if I'm honest to prove to you that VDV is very highly rated, and possibly higher rated than Modric.

I expected VDV to be a hit from the start. I expected him to show the world class talent he has shown for everyone else.

I didn't underrate VDV. If you actually knew me, knew my friends and had joined in with conversations about football with me you would know this.

You would know that when people were abusing Madrid for getting rid of Wesley, I agreed with their decision as they had IMO a better player in VDV.

You are so biased and irrational that you cannot possibly debate on this subject.

Yes, but I am now not biased. I have seen both play, idolise both, love both, thank the lord I have seen both play, get goosebumps watching both.
