Fabiano is a good player but a non-believer so he can go fuck himself. Pretty much.

As some have said he's not in the top-class range, furthermore his injury record isn't great. I follow Seville and he is often out through injury. This season he's fit but he hasn't started a game yet.

The thing is with Fabiano, had we played him up top on his own then we'd be asking a hell of a lot from him. He really needs to be up top with a number 9 to get the best out of him. He has a great partner in Kanoute at Sevilla. It's kind of like how Robbie Keane was at his best with Berbatov alongside him.

I think he would've been an upgrade on Defoe, but only if he could produce his Sevilla form in England. That's a pretty big if. It wouldn't have been easy to replace the goals Defoe scored in his first season either.

VDV on the other hand will need to add goals to a midfield that doesn't really have a high goalscorer.
comparing apples to oranges.

and anyone who thinks someone who is brazils number 9 is not a good palyer needs their head examining
Brazil aren't all that special anymore though. They haven't been for quite some time.

Fabiano is a quality player, but he's not World Class.

2 ways to improve your golas scored. 1) get a better forward 2) add another player that can create more and better chances.

Fabiano V defoe.... in this second spell at the Club Defoes goals per games ratio is better than Fabianos over the same period of time for Sevilla. Both teams are of a comparable quaility in thier leagues*

I don't subscribe to the idea that Defoe and Fabiano would have been a good combination together so it would be a case of Defoe OR fabiano. and in that respect Fabiano is not (statistically) an improvement and certainly not for 18m+. Defoe + VDV @8m is significantly better than Fabiano+defoe for 18m

*fabianos international strike rate is better than Defoes but who's going to argue Brazils no.9 doesn't get far more chances than defoe in an England shirt. (something that could change though)

VDV contribution to Ajax and Hamburg is top notch but madrid was less so due to chances but as a madrid fancier i can say he was getting better and better and 8m is madness on thier part.

come on though he isnt top top class, nowhere near fat ronaldo class in his pomp

so far away from him that they're almost playing a completely different sport. in fact i'm a little angry you've mentioned them in the same sentence.
