It‘s no surprised they were keen. The league format sounds utterly shite though.

I genuinely think the league format will kill the competition, or at the very least mean nobody gives a shit until the knockouts begin in the Spring.
It's going to be dull as hell with the only sense of drama coming if a big club messes up so badly they can't even get top 24.
I don't want to see e.g. Barca and Liverpool play out a tie that only determines whether they finish 3rd or 9th in the giant table. It means nothing and football is bloody boring when it means nothing.
