You cannot blame a player for not taking a penalty. It might not have been his decision, Chimbonda probably said he fancied one, and so on...
After the first five players took one, its normally down to the players to choose who goes next.
For all you know Steed could have been next...

Its a completely idiotic arguement, I do not need to elaborate anymore.

As for Jenas's penalty, do not for one second believe waht the commentators say about being the perfect height for a goalkeeper, every goalkeeper is different.

He placed the ball as near to the post as it could go, mid height, but a very good penalty, saved by a very very good save - it wasn't a poor penalty, it was a good save.

I KNEW O'Hara would take one though, you can imagine him shouting, "I'll take one, boss!" Whatever you may think of his talent, you got to love that guy's guts

Absolutely, I knew he'd be one of the five. I was worried for him when he had to replace the ball, but he still did the job.

I loved Bent's penalty, he wouldn't look at the keeper and I admit, he looked nervous, but he just laced the ball.. some serious power in that shot.

Penalties are a lottery, we lost the lottery last night.

If i had to pick a disappointment, and its my opinion, but apart from Berbs' goal, I dont think we saw the best of him over the two legs.

Chew on that Berbati!

I completely agree with you on this, I just think it was the right height for Gomes. He’s very acrobatic. Against another keeper that would have gone in.

No fault of Jenas.

In fact no fault to anyone, I thought they all played well.

1 - why didnt berabtov wear the armband?

2 - why didnt berbatov score 2 to take us into the next round?

berabtov has been playing great recently and this is no pop at him, but these are stupid answer to go along with this thread

First of all all the players showed great courage and determination, and its easy to say why did he not take one etc, but lets be honest would anyone of us have the bollocks to???
Secondly have some perspective we played a CL team and out played them for so much of the tie, Ramos would have learnt alot about those players last night, yes we should have got through and i wish we had but we didn't, lets get a few more wins under our belt in the league and start turning our attentions to the summer and next season

I cannot chew on every stupid comment.

Van Basten had tens of games about which you could say: apart from that stunning goal he made nothing.

Spurs midfield was so futile that Berbatov didn't have a single chance in ghe first game and in the second scored from a half chance. Apart from that he created that brilliant chance for Steed who had to pass the ball to Keane instead of trying to be a hero.

What an absolute wanker you are. Spurs fans are gutted here and you take the opportunity of a snide dig. Fuck off.

Dougal, me thinks that absolute wankers are those who rely on Berbatov to save your ass and when he fails treat him like a lazy, disinterested primadonna. Unfortunately, many many fans are just like that.

I think you are slightly deluded Berbati, no offense intended, but...

Every single spurs fan I knows thinks the absolute world of Berbatov, many say he is our only world class player and we are lucky to have him, so get off your high horse and stop making out that we are a one man team. Hardly any spurs fans slate him, he is fantastic, so I'd appreciate if you stopped the trolling mate, as your doing yourself no favours and embarrassing yourself ever so slightly.

Most of the negativity for Berbatov on here comes as a reaction to you. We love Berbatov here, he's a fantastic player. But this isn't Berbatov Community. There's a club here, Tottenham, you might have heard of them. We played last night, we lost on penalties, we are recovering from that. Having you here is like having a WUM Gooner in the camp only your insistence that you follow Spurs (for the moment) is the only reason you don't follow the usual WUM's out the door. Something wrong with the rules if you ask me.

To be fair dude, I think that any height would be perfect for that keeper... he was a fucking giant with seriously long arms!!!

I remember fans calling him a bulgarian twat, c.unt, lazy wanker etc. and no one reacted to these "comments" at that forum. Only few posters backed him when he was going through a bad patch.

were not a 1 man team though, as great as berbatov is and has been we have relied just as heavily on keane, jenas, steeed, lennon & king/woodgate/dawson*

i prefered the egyptians that were her for mido to you berbati, least they brought something positive (the highlights mainly, but also they werent here to try and unsettle a player and try to engineer a move for their player like you seem to be doing) to the community, you sir are just a tool, and not even a needed tool, youre like one of those really small allan (sp?) keys that are too small to fit anything and are so thin they snap easily

*delete the ones who are out injured

Well I didn't see any of that, so I cannot comment.
I do know that people were getting frustrated with him just before MJ left us.
But it was completely justified, all the talk about him leaving, not wanting a new contract, him not exactly playing well on the pitch either, throwing strops around the pitch. Although his class and talent were never in doubt, it was always clear that it was unrest.

Although on the same note, it wasn't just at Berbatov either, most of the team were under pressure.

Start opening your mind for reasons, isntead of closing it off and thinking your right about it mate, it very well might help you make more friends in real life too, taking in other peoples opinions and understanding them is key to life.

But the main thing is, its a team game.

That's true. About the rest, well, everyone has the right to express his view

Bertwati, one thing you have to get to grips with here, is that Spurs is much bigger than Berbs, and the most important person at the club at the moment is Ramos.

I am delighted to announce the closure of this thread.

Most of you know better than to go around making free with the abuse, (you know who you are) and if the wife neglects to cut the crust off of my cheese and cucumber sarnies for the second day running I might come back and infract you all for it.
