What do you think guys?

1. Why did Jenas wear the armband last night?

2. Why did Steed player of the season Malbranque not take a penalty?

Thanks :)

1. Wasn't it just the captain's armband, passed from King to Keane when he went off and then on to Jenas?

2. Obviously was too nervous. I'm surprised and a little disappointed that someone of his talent and experience would let a full back and young squad player go up before him, but hey, what can you do?

Thanks mate. I think Robbo is the third captain and was a bit strange for me that Jenas did wear the band last night.

As regards Malbranque, I don't want to blame him. Maybe he thinks he is a bit unlucky (that own goal against Sevilla) and would miss. But that was the moment to step up and show some character. He is one of the most experienced players in that squad.

Jenas has been captain before.

I absolutely agree about Malbranque. Had a good season, don't want to beat the guy up too much. But yeah, he would have been in my first five and he clearly didn't fancy it. I KNEW O'Hara would take one though, you can imagine him shouting, "I'll take one, boss!" Whatever you may think of his talent, you got to love that guy's guts

You cannot blame Steed for not taking a penalty.

The save the keeper made for Jenas' penalty was top drawer. It was right inside the post, thats a full length dive... great save, not even a shit penalty.

Chimbonda's was crap, but I admit as soon as I saw Zoko step up, I thought we would lose it then, loved it when he scored, although wasn't confident about Chimbonda taking one.
As Ramos said, grats to all players that stepped up.

We should have won in full time, and then in extra time, if it wasn't for a truely wonderful save from their keeper.

Would you please elaborate?

Can you? How can you blame someone for not taking a penalty. If he didn't fancy it then that's fair enough. Shall we blame Robbo, woodgate, Lennon they didn't take one either?

Hell if your mate flaps his fucking arms around much more, he'll take off one of these days.

Fuck off bud please.

Oh, what a sensationally smart return

The answer to both questions is definetely NO as I cannot leave that forum without having 100 green rectangles under my user name and cannot miss the chance to comment every week the breathtaking performances of the likes of Steeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed

You're a cock. I can't believe you're trying to blame someone for not taking a penalty. Would you rather he took one whilst being a nervous wreck and not having the bottle and probably missing, or leaving it to someone more confident?

I though Jenas penalty wasn’t great, it was at the right height for Gomes to pull off the save. But even poor penalty's go in and still required a great save from Gomes (who’s one of the craziest goalie’s I’ve seen in a while).

Jenas having the armband was probably because we wanted to lead from the front. I think he is a influential player and him taking the armband makes sense to me.

Malbranque obviously didn’t fancy one, same as Lennon. I’m glad Zokora put his away. Got to admit I didn’t watch him take it(kind of like Zokora really :)).
