With the idea mentioned about a specific player, wouldn't that be more likely to grab some attention, whilst the club would also get a whiff of it and would at least know what the fans want specifically. Did Villa fans not manage to stop the appointment of Mclaren, surely we could have an effect on our club too.

If he truly does want to come to England and is in limbo regarding who to go to surely a bombardment of spurs fans saying they'd love him to come would sway him especially given how we know he likes the club too. Of course, our ability to pay the fee and wages could still be unable to match Inter and Eto'o but it would give us a chance

When we supposedly put in that £26m bid with Arsenal didn't his agent say he's been learning English for the last few years because he wants to play in England. Perhaps the people he speaks to regularly don't speak English but I think he can.
