So do we think he will go full strength to use this also as a rehearsal for Sunday? Plus we need to win tonight

I'm thinking and hoping for about 70% if not then ideally full strength, get the players used to playing the new system, win the game, rest the key players after about 70 mins.

We need to win this game.

Lloris (or Gollini) *rather Lloris for this first game as he is captain*

Emerson

Sanchez
Romero
Dier

Regullion

PEH
Ndombele
Lo Celso

Son
Kane

Win 3-0 and take Son, Kane and PEH off after 70 mins.

Thank you goodnight,

I think the stadium will be rocking and we'll win comfortably. The players will know they have to show intensity, the crowd will be up for it.

I saw a training vid yesterday where they were in a big circle with a couple of bib players trying to close down the passes. (Is this Rondo?). The bib players were changing every 5-10 seconds. It started off with the bib players running and trying to get the ball obvs, but kinda casually. After a few minutes the tackles started flying in  . I imagined that Antonio had just appeared off camera and so the intensity went from 10-100

I'm expecting a strong side tonight. He won't want to be fucking about with rotations and shit yet.

I'm not expecting too much tonight. He's been here no time at all, but it'll be interesting to see if he can get a tune out of any of the players. I hope he puts out a fairly strong team and a winning start builds some confidence.

Agree, I am hoping we see players interested in playing today.
Conte standing on the side line giving out instructions through our the game so they know what is expected of them.

We HAVE to win to get the momentum of the Conte-era going, so I expect us to play a strong team tonight, probably very close to full strength (if Conte has had the time to asses the squad well enough to decide on what full strength is)

If I was Conte, I would go all out to win this tournament, even if it is a bit second-rate. If he is to install a new mentality in our club and in the squad, the very first trophy is extremely important, even if it is a small one. Finally winning something together could inspire to other great achievements next season. If we look at what teams are standing in our way in this tournament, compared to the PL, FA-cup and Carabao cup, it is a no-brainer to go all-out to win the Europa Conference League

not to mention needing a win to try and top the group and skip the round of 32 so Conte can get some time for training.

Whoever starts I'm hoping to see waaay more intensity from the first whistle and I think we will.

If not he'll probably kill them at half time.:)

Must-win game. + Conte will relish the chance of possible final with Roma if we go all the way.

Would be a wet dream of a final just for the press conferences, we'd need Eddie Hearn to promote it all.

If Roma-Jose don't implode along the way, we've got the Europa League dropouts to contend with too.

I have to thank Conte for one thing already.

For the first time in about two years, I'm genuinely excited to watch Spurs play.

Plus the winner of the ECL gets automatic Europa Cup entry. I appreciate CL would be nice but we need Euroball income guaranteed even at the lower level of earnings.

Oh yea very true mate, tbh I doubt we will make the final, won't be easy at all, might struggle to get out the group at the moment alone never mind if we did then as you say Roma could implode as usual with Jose.

Lets see though, it would be box office if it happened.

I agree. I don’t expect any changes to the formation that we played last week just simple messages from Conte emphasising the need to get the ball in the box, midfield to get forward in numbers and press more. The fact he’s on the sidelines should be enough to do that naturally with players trying to impress.
I’m not even sure we’ll see to much of a change in formation against Everton, but after the international break we should see a difference.

Vitesse we’re such annoying, diving shits in the first game, I hope we pummel them in to submission.

I'm not expecting a massive turnaround tonight but i'm hoping him 'observing' training during the last couple of days meant he was actually working his bollocks off getting into the players how he wants us to play from now on. Tonight is important as a training session more than anything, Sunday is when the real work starts.
