This literally makes zero sense.

Having the vaccine (which I have, before anyone starts wailing) does not stop you catching or transmitting the virus.

Therefore requiring those who've not been vaccinated to take a test, but requiring those who have been vaccinated not to, is completely illogical. If anything, the unvaccinated person is only putting themselves at risk, not other people.

I don't give a shit if people near me have taken tests or not - I've had the vaccine, therefore I've done all I realistically can to safeguard myself. Now life continues.

This wasn’t my point whatsoever, I had a problem with the inference of not bothering to take a test if they weren’t going to be checked.

Taking a test does protect other people, if that person tested positive so then didn’t go to the the game. That is a fact.

I said I didn’t care about him having the vaccine or not.

I agree with most of the things you say but you sometimes you try and pick weird arguments.

So, tonight's game eh? Maybe lets not spend the day filling the match thread up with Covid chat that could go in any one of about 3 specifically created threads?

What are we hoping for tonight? Personally, I'd be happy with:

A win :)
A good atmosphere :)
Plenty of energy on the pitch :)
Conte crowd surfing after Son's hat-trick goal :)

Can't believe how much I'm buzzing for this. It's ridiculous.

Fully vaccinated people have a greatly reduced incidence of catching the virus (~90%) and a reduced incidence of passing it on, the latter because they have less viral load and emit virus for a shorter period.

Studies vary, but they average out at about a 50% reduction in transmission by fully vaccinated and infected people. So when you add in the 90% reduction in the likelihood of getting infected, the cumulative effect is a very large reduction in transmission to others by vaccinated people.

So essentially, what you're saying is, those who have chosen not to be vaccinated are more at risk than those who have chosen to be vaccinated.

Makes perfect sense to me.

If the guy wants to put himself at risk, so be it.

People who are double jabbed can still contract, carry and transmit the virus.

On that basis, they should be testing before the game too, otherwise the system is completely illogical.

Jesus, I didn’t say they shouldn’t, I actually agree with you. Where are you getting this from?

As I said I had a problem with the idea of not testing just because they wouldn’t be checked, that is a selfish way of thinking. Do you not agree?

We all have a moral obligation to keep each other safe, even if we aren’t told to do so by the law.

Yes, he is. That's the whole point.

Unselfish people who respect facts and other people's safety are better people than selfish, arrogant people who put their own needs first and endanger others in defiance of evidence.

Mate, save me the sob story and never quote me again. The irony in labelling me arrogant. The bloody cheek. ?

I’ve taken the test last night as mate I’m going with had the test kits. I have no problem taking them - where did I say that? I just didn’t have any kits myself and I’m not in the loop of how to get hold of them at such short notice. That’s it.

By that reasoning though we should all be tested every single day to get on the tube vaccinated or not. Make it make sense.

Got no more to say on the matter. Bored to death of the thing.
Just look after other people. Put yourself at risk if you like.

What I want to see most is effort and workrate. If we could also have a few passes forward that would be nice.

Obviously I'd like to see a shot on goal, but it might be too soon for such ambition!!

I want to see 3 ATB and our strongest possible team. This is a must win and that's what I want to see us do. Preferably scoring at least 2 in the process

Thought we “had” to win but actually a draw would just about leave our fate in own Hands in regard to qualifying. All 3 teams could possibly end on 11pts

I'm not expecting too much tonight. He's been here no time at all, but it'll be interesting to see if he can get a tune out of any of the players. I hope he puts out a fairly strong team and a winning start builds some confidence.
