Poch is exempt from any criticism, he is not jesus, cant perform miracles with the tools he has at his disposal

But

Townsend, just get rid, dont care how cheap, £12m, £2m, a pack of cheese and onion crisps, the guy is a disgrace

Kaboul, just retire, release, sell, turn him into glue, anything, he cant play for us again

Today was a clusterfuck

Shhhh, you can't say lamela had a bad game in here

I'm a big fan of his but no denying he stunk the place out today from an attacking point of view, gave the ball away a lot and was weak in possession. Still didn't give it away in such a bad area that we conceded though.

i think if we could have made more subs we would have done as neither bentaleb or Capoue did anything going forwards and neither did a particularly good job of shielding the back 4 or tracking Sterling who was playing in the hole, Capoue is massively overrated by lots of people on this site, considering the stick paulinho gets, can't recall more than the odd game where capoue has stood out.

Yeah but Liverpool were playing a diamond formation. They were getting ball forward quickly creating 3 vs 2's which meant they had an extra man in attack and it always seemed to be Sterling.

I honestly think people are over-reacting as per usual, we need players who can move the ball quickly but we knew that anyway which is why the manager wants Schneiderlin to play next to Capoue.

Very very dissapointing.
Too many individual errors, the penalty might have been soft but it wasn't technically incorrect.

Liverpool were stronger in every department, importantly in the challenges and speed with which they did everything. It might be hard to say but you simply have to nod your cap and say beaten by the better team.

0-3 does not flatter Liverpool today, better pressing and tempo and aggression.

Work in progress still. Lamella for all his good work last week gave the ball away too much, as did Townsend alas for the third. Dier ok but found out experience wise for the penalty.

So, the come down, but not too down... I knew we wouldn't have it all out own way so early into Poch's reign and maybe this pushes us into another signing before the window closes.

I have to say I wasn't optomstic but i didn't expect that. As you say too mAny mistakes not enough pressing. We gave them too much respect.
Fuck!!! Down to earth. Come on POCH this is where we need you to pull things together

*cough* Moyes...

What's that got to do with us hiring and firing managers though mate?

Its got to stop.

Demanding instant success has been our problem on the manager front.

Pochettino shouldn't be under any pressure at all this season, barring being threatened with relegation or something.

Very disappointing today. It'll take time for Poch's system to really be implemented, and today is a reminder of that. The most frustrating thing though, was that we never even got near the performance of last week. If we had, we would've at least given the Bindippers a really tough game and I think there was a big chance we'd have come away with 3 points.

Ah well. Just gotta keep the faith and be patient. COYS.

Townsend should be sold. Not good enough.. is all I can say

I made the comparison to Sterling in the Townsend thread weeks ago...he's just light years ahead of him, light years.

I can't believe we would turn down 12 million, can't believe it.

Pretty much every player has been mentioned on here as one to be dropped for the next game. It's just kneejerk reaction.

Liverpool are just better organised than us, and that's because Rodgers has had 100 games in charge and Pochettino has had 3. I'm sure we could have got a result today if we'd adapted by sitting back and packing the midfield but it's about practicing with our attacking style and the only way that happens is through experiences like this. It'll take a season or so before we can start imposing ourselves on the better teams, better in the long run to keep playing this way rather than be more cautious for the sake of one game.

It looks like we got no leadership on the pitch, really need some players who takes responsibility to get the team going.

This is the problem with the club, we seem averse to buying anyone with good experience. I suspect it is because of the lack of sell on value.

I think the boardroom is to skewed too much towards value off the pitch and not enough on it.

Unfortunately sales of the like of Bale just encourage this ethos.

No one is saying he had a good game, they are just balking at him being singled out when he had a better game than those around him.

Lamela and Chadli were not the reasons we lost this game. Everyone else was.

Sorry lad, Lamela was poor as was Andros.

It was a poor performance from others also.

Liverpool were different class. That hurts to say.

I agree to an extent, some of what he tried didn't come off, but then the movement of our entire forward line was poor and he (and eriksen) had very little to work with/aim for - there's only so much Ade can do on his own.

What I meant from my 'don't fret' comment was that its only our 3rd prem game and effectively only Lamela's 3rd proper game too - Its early days and I really do think we'll get better.....as a team!

Like I said I'm not drawing any long term conclusions but I think it's fair to say that they were poor today. Very poor.

Because impartiality is twinned with knowledge?

How much Nial Quinn knows or does not know about football has nothing to do with how biassed he is.

Yeah he's hatred of spurs is so much he says damming statements like "lamela been off the pace today". Lamela wasn't the worst out of our bunch today but to blame his display on the movement of the other players is laughable

Not defending all the knee jerkers but I'm pretty sure everyone is only upset by the manner of the defeat.

Rather we lost 6-3 ala Everton. In our last 2 home games against Liverpool we have conceded 8 goals, scored none and had the grand total of 1 shot on target!

I think there are some massive issues with the squad and we should cull as many as we need to.
Fair enough but that's hardly Pochettino's fault is it. It's going to take time to implement the new system, Rodgers has had two full seasons at Liverpool. People expecting a quick fix are quite frankly idiots, we're at least two seasons behind Liverpool.

There'll probably be a few more defeats like that before we start to turn the corner.

Ha!

We moved the ball sharper and created some openings in the last 20 because Liverpool completely took their foot off the pedal. Even then I didn't feel we were going to score.

I'm not taking any positives from today aside from the fact that it may be the final nail in certain players Spurs careers on the back of that showing,

I honestly believe we played some good possession football today with the pressing game showing signs of developing. I really don't think that Liverpool dominated at all - I can't think of a period of more than a few minutes in the game where they were applying sustained pressure, they just hit us fast and effectively on the break, with some quality finishing. I think we actually had similar quality chances (Chadli vs their first goal, Penalty given vs not against Adebayor for a similar offence, and any 1 of 3 or 4 counter attacking chances vs Moreno goal), but just didn't take them.

Anyway, I think we agree that moving a few out and bringing in one or two in tomorrow is most definitely required.

Again, no one is saying he wasn't poor, he just wasn't worse than anyone else.

Townsend was the worst player on the pitch when he came on.
