Didnt watch as Im trying to catch up at work. Getting a chance to post during lunch. How did the young lads do, specifically Winks, CCV, Harrison, Edwards, etc? Saw a few videos on twitter of Lamela's, Alli's and Kane's goal. What a fucking goal by Lamela btw.

CCV did ok seems a little sluggish in mind and body.

Winks assured as usual

Harrison & Edwards good cameos, Harrison with a goal and Edwards with a bodyswerve in the box.

Janssen could be key this season. He looked strong, good hold up play, excellent passing and was aware to snatch the goal. We were crying out for backup to Kane last year. Saying that he played well with Kane - 4-4-2 maybe!

My first real look at Janssen. Very impressive player who looks ideal for the EPL. Seems to have a bit of everything about his game and gives us more options than we have had for a long time up front.

2nd half a lot better than the 1st, Poch rocket?

Too many touches 1st half,

Some real headaches for Poch.

Dier next to Toby as Wimmer is clearly not fit and I'm not sure about CCV.

Winks or Mason?

Kane and Janssen?

Seems unlikely. If Wimmer is not fit, CCV will start.

WInks was very good and made a real difference when he came on, really quick on the ball, very crisp passing and also worked hard defensively. A lot more zip than Mason, ought to be ahead of him in the pecking order.

CCV, didn't have that much to do, and coped with Inter's attacks on the most part, but was a bit sloppy. Often lost the ball, and on one occasion had a Stones moment, but he was saved by the referee who deemed it a foul. Not sure he is ready for the intensity of PL football yet.

Harrison was bright when he came on, took his goal well, but didn't really have enough time for me to really make a judgment.

Edwards didn't see much of the ball, always looked to attack and had a good dribble or two but never found his man.

Janssen is a beast. Their defenders looked like school boys when they tried to win the ball against him- And when they fouled him, they ended up hurting themselves instead. It's like running into a brick wall.

Agreed, Jamturk was referring to that only a few pages ago "annonymous" i think was the term used...............:p

He didn't have a shot in the 1st half from open play, I didnt say it was his fault.

I think we played a lot lot better as a team in the 2nd half.

But It is probably more important for you to score a point over a fellow member than discuss the game objectively.

Winks looks like the real deal, id be confident he could step into any game. CCV look good, looked like a seasoned CB, at his age thats a good sign. Harrison didnt get much of the ball but finished well. Edwards didnt have much of the ball but had a moment of 'future looks good' when he skinned a player in the pentaly area through the fact the ball is glued to his foot. Like no other player we have, his close controle is crazy. Like hes dribbling with a bowling ball.

I am very surprise as Wink, IMO, is considered quite tough for his physique.. Never afraid for a challenge or receiving a ball.. Really wish to see more of him this coming season!

I still look at that team without Dembele and think we have a perfect replacement in Bentaleb. Shame he is on the way out.

"often"? I thought he looked good with the ball, very composed, and his teammates never shied away from passing him the ball. If I had to quibble with any of his game today it would have been positioning - but that will come with time. I don't think he looked out of place at all - and for a 4th CB, I think we were smart to save our money and not bring someone in.
