Im not even sure it's a general rule, although some people seem to think it is.....the only time it really applies IMO is from range, when the attacker is that close and hits it that hard, any keeper can be beaten there.I agree completely.
There's nothing "wrong" with a keeper getting beat at his near post. Analysis of each goal needs to be taken individually, and while as a *general* rule keepers "shouldn't" be beaten at the near post, but in this situation it was a fantastic goal by Perisic.
