Scoring five goals against a top Italian side in the final pre-season game before the competitive football starts bodes well..

With the score youd have thought this was a pre season friendly against Hays and Yeading

two points that look very promising.

1) Winks and Dier seem to combine very well. Looking very zippy, both very clever on the ball. Compleatly dominating over inter.

Jansen and Kane playing together was great to watch, Jansen making a lot of space for the players around him. The thing which really shows is both are very technical players and are so much more than just finishers, Jansen is very apt at laying players off in a more N9 position while Kane is very good as a number 10. Even so they both roam around looking for pockets of space, which confused the Inter defense who expected a more traditional front two. Very excited about the potential of them playing together.

Remember scoring 5 on Ramos's last pre season game also.

Janssen can hold a player off all day by the looks of it. Strong af. Demeble-like in that respect.

Likes Erik Lamela, deal with it.

Winks looking a likely starter as back-up to Dembele I reckon, deserves it too.

Love the way Janssen brought that ball down with his chest and looked for the run immediately after.

Remember the season we had last time we hit 5 goals past an Italian side in pre-season

Nice for the confidence but remember it doesn't mean a thing in pre season.

I remember we looked like peps barca under Ramos in pre season with Darren bent scoring for fun

Whilst this is no doubt true, wouldn't it be good to have a player who pops up with a goal AND puts in consistent, effective performances for closer to 90 minutes?

Alli isn't a striker - he has to do more to justify his position as a number 10 - it's one of those positions where just scoring the odd goal isn't enough.

I'm not criticising him today, it's pre-season and he's clearly a huge talent, but it's not untrue to say he deserves much of the criticism he can get during games. He can and does disappear or consistently give the ball away, a lot. I love him but there is huge room for improvement.
In theory yes.

But Alli does not really play in the 10 role - a little creativity, but that still falls to Eriksen and Lamela. Alli's role is more of a second striker.

At the end of the day its about scoring goals, and preventing goals. Alli does his share in the attacking end, and does not give away goals, even if he turns the ball over too frequently. Yes, he will be great if he becomes more consistent - but when he becomes more consistent - he'll probably be playing for a club willing to pay massive wages.
