Yes. Think he'd be far more consistent. Bale is going to leave eventually anyway. Then again I've always been a fan of Johnson and Bale has been living off of those games against Inter for too long imo.

Either Harry isn't big enough to tell him to stick to the f**king left wing or he doesn't listen.

He's a very good player but, imo, vastly overrated because he raped Maicon.

In an interview with Harry on Talkshite only last Friday he said he wants Bale to come in off the wing as he is too easy to mark there. He also said he wants Lennon to start doing it too. So from that I can only assume Bale is following orders. Like most other Spurs fans I think he is more effective out wide. But what do us fans know, especially when we've never had it so good (According to Harry that is)

Harry really talks some rubbish.

Who knows what Harry tells him to do?? Could be anything but as a guess I'd say he gives him freedom to do what he wants.

Anyway I know you must be frustrated about Bale today but there is no way i'd want Jonhson over him. Johnson is a good player but if Spurs fans think Bale is lazy when it comes to tracking back wait till you see AJ.

Also offensively I think Bale is a much better player, I don't even think it's close.

Yes I agree when Bale is at his best I don't think there's many better. But he's not consistent enough and if we're to get £30m+ for him then I wouldn't look beyond Johnson.

Maybe I don't think Johnson is a better player but I think he would be very useful when Bale decides to naff off (and we all know he will)

Johnson has good dribbling ability and a good shot but I only think he's effective from the right, in which case would be between him and Lennon.

I know Bale has been coming inside a lot lately but as a pure left winger I don't think there is anyone better. Yea he's not perfect but who is?

I didn't hear Harry's TS interview but if true as others have pointed out it seems like Harry has been telling him to roam freely. He skinned Bosingwa a few times early on today and should have stayed wide more imo but it didn't really happen.

Bale did have the beating of Bosingwa yesterday. From where I was sat, (in the middle of the Chelsea fans) they were in awe as to how quick he was. There were times where he could have tracked back a bit better and I really can't see him playing at Left Back in the future but I wouldn't swap him for anyone right now.

The problem with Bale coming inside is that it crowds out the middle for Modric and VdV and that could be a reason why Modric's performances have been poor. We really had control of the game for large chunks and if one of our early chances had gone in I think we would have won comfortably. After Lampard's goal it was inevitable and the player's heads just dropped despite having 18 minutes and only being 3-1 down.

I was expecting to read a lot of guff about how the second goal that wasn't a goal was responsible for our loss, pleasantly surprised from the pages I've read to see that this is not the case.

Oddly unsurprised at what I witnessed at Wembley , the same affliction was present when we played Norwich.Only thing I see which has coincided with our drop of form is the England speculation.Has Harry lost the dressing room? Could the England job have really affected everyone that much? I'm not even angry anymore , just disappointed.

Only just been able to bring myself to skip through a few ITV highlights from yesterday. Live from the stands we couldn't see anything of their second goal and now realise it wasn't even near to being over.
Its happened elswhere, corruption makes you wonder?

This is the Gallas at his worst; got bullied all day and then gave up losing us 2 goals. King's not the same player as before. Disappointed that Modric didn't even try to put a foot in, can't play against big teams. VdV was unlucky.

John Terry is a terrible human being and Mikel equally unsporting. Football at its worst.

Wasn't it third game in a row that Terry cleared the ball from the line against us? Freakish, if I'm correct. And credit to his defending abilities.
