Very low block so needed to take the chances early to open the game . was going to take a worldy to win this one . Emerson and Davies were v good , Porro decent and Johnson ok , the rest get 5/10s .
Udogie was up there for me.
Less so second half but quality first half.

We have a habit of making hard work of early FA Cup games. At least this one is a job done without a replay or injuries.

I can’t go in the match thread during games any more. Does my nut in.
Yeah, it just makes me angry but I'm not sure that came across in my post. 😂

I just dip in before the game, halftime and at the end. I'd probably get banned otherwise.

Well the positives…

we won.
Royal and Davies were good (and by Utd game vdv will be closer to ready and hopefully we’ll have one more in)
80 good minutes for Bentancur!
Absolute screamer from Porro.

Other than that, it was all just a bit off, a bit sloppy and a bit leggy. We have some time now until Utd and just happy to get through.
But we,re we? We were sloppy compared to what? Conte? Jose? Nuno?

i take positives I like knowing what we are trying to do? We have main players out, I enjoyed that whole game. Compared to the last season we are feed.

ange's system covers up how average our attacking players really are. only son as a 9 is at the level of the rest of the starters.

This is true imo (though I think Deki central is good, it’s just wide in this system he isn’t the right fit). Richarlison is average centrally and I lost count of how many times our wide players got the ball in space isolated against their fullback and failed to do anything with it, couldn’t take people on, couldn’t combine, touch was poor etc etc. Everything slowed up every time it went out to our wide players and the momentum of attacks just died out.

Massive credit to Emerson and Davies tonight once again and shout out to Porro for a wonder strike. Great to see Bentancur get a good amount of game time too.

A PL side sat back and made it difficult stuff and we struggled.

Never happened before.

Overall thoughts:

Job done. 2 more players back.

Burnley set up to defend so a bit boring and frustrating but we were pretty comfortable all in all. That said, I was in the 'rotate' camp because although we don't play again for 8 days we've had a busy period and it's no surprise whatsoever that quite a few players looked leggy. If Davies has done any significant damage then you have to consider whether it was wise to play him (one of the oldest players and the closest thing to a CB we had for the last few weeks
