Me and my mate noticed exactly this at the time. Mustafi was repeatedly shoving Kane into an offside position at set pieces. ref, of course, did nothing.

Karma.
Just catching up on the game and I noticed the very same thing, it was obviously intended to keep him in an offside position. I've not seen that before but it was obviously something they planned to do, something to draw the referee's attention to in future.

Anyone worrying about Trippier today needs to take a good long look at themselves in the mirror and when. they are done, they need to go find another mirror and stand looking at themselves in that one for twenty minutes too.

There's absolutely nothing, nothing at all about Trippier playing today that would change seeing us yet again persistently playing the ball across the back four and into midfield, back into the back four again and finally back to Hugo to go long. Constantly getting into the opponents half and going backwards when facing front. Constantly pinging it from left to right then back one, right to left, forward one, back two. All of this done in a slow laborious fashion. Slow passing, poor passing, all the while putting ourselves under pressure. No imagination, guile, speed of thought just a ponderous going through the motions from back to front, throughout the entire team. barely a chance treated really yet we know these players are capable of SO much better............

This isn't so much about the quality of Trippier, Eriksen or whoever else we decide to scape this week. It isn't about that at all. There are bigger problems than that to worry about.

All of these players have shown us their quality time after time, they are a good team, they are good players. Kieran fucking Trippier is the least of our problems, if that's what you got out of today get back to that bastard mirror and come back when the penny drops. It's like the perfect storm, recovery after the World Cup, injuries, the resulting demands on the squad, form, this, that, the other but one thing (IMO) stands out.

We've been getting away with it and we're reaping what we sowed in the summer when Levy and Pochettino decided we didn't need to sign any players. There's nobody out there good enough? Don't make me laugh.
You need to read this to Mrs A&C, you could easily get some action based on the majesty of your logic

I actually thought the ref gave the Arsenal penalty because he wasn't sure if he got our one right. It just looked like he was happy to be given an opportunity to give them one too.

If the penny doesn't drop seeing Danny Rose in midfield, it never will. That was an embarrassment, I think the squad has had a miraculous season and has papered over the cracks of the summer but make no mistake, if we don't go big in the summer then we deserve what we have coming to us, We have rode our luck beyond belief this season. if you look at performance we've been the worst we have been since Pochs first season.

Aubameyang wouldn't have gotten goal side of him so easily if it was great defending.
Huh? he was sold into trouble by a poor pass as the entire team were pressing high up the pitch wasn't he?

Look, I'm not saying Sanchez was ledley in his prime today I'm just saying he wasn't that bad and in this instance he got back at Aubamyang very quickly, ushered him away from goal, kept tight legally and absolutely did not deserve to be penalised for an outrageous dive by the cheat Aubameyang.

Ffs.

Rode our luck? If we'd been lucky we might have had Dier or Winks available, I mean, how often does a club lose a player to tonsilfuckingitis? We've overridden our bad luck this season is what we've done.

Well we have rode our luck by not getting midfield replacements in is more my point. Dier is injured, okay so we have Wanyama who it seems clear can't be relied upon anymore. Winks injured and we can't replace him with Dembele because he was sold to China and we brought nobody in to replace him. In my opinion having been relying upon a midfield of Sissoko, Winks, Dier, Dembele and Wanyama was a huge risk to take, we then doubled down on that risk selling Dembele. In my opinion knowing in Jan that Dier had to have surgery, we have rode our luck being dependant on Winks/Sissoko seeing us through the season.

I get what you're saying about Winks/Dier but I hope you can see what I'm saying also. We should have options to cover them and a 1 legged Wanyama is not that.

The same club who lost Greaves for 10 weeks to jaundice and Mackay who broke his left leg in a reserve game while making a comeback 9 months after breaking his left leg.

Some shite luck indeed.

Yeah that’s something I really don’t want to see again. Yes he’s a fighter, but at times it seemed he thought he was Maradonna trying to dribble past the whole team, only to give the ball away time and again. Damn near gave me a bloody heart attack!
