Yeah, I don't expect many people to agree with me on Lloris, but that's how I see it. You'll never see a top possession side going for big trophies with a keeper as poor as he was with his feet and a propensity to make big errors.
You're probably right today but that has only really increased the last few years. Certainly with Alison and Ederson in the league now. It would have made sense around the time where the defence was ageing to rebuild back there. Use that as an opportunity to bring in another keeper. We did seem to try it with Pau Lopez around 2016 when he was 24. Then we ended up keeping Lloris too long and as the emphasis on playing from the back increased he got worse. I think back when Poch came in teams didn't really press high and aggressive. He really introduced that style and then Pep and Klopp both had their own pressing game. Now it seems a lot of teams press well in attack and a goalkeeper needs to be a lot calmer. I didn't think it mattered under the peak Poch era as we were the ones pressing high. It was more the counter attacks we had to deal with while the defence were up to the half way line. As the league evolved was when Lloris struggled more. Although to be fair we switched to this ultra defensive game where we started to invite pressure too. So it's just a matter of recognising when a player doesn't fit a manager like with Vicario coming in under Ange because we need to play from the back more.

Just from my side. Although I totally get your points and I do fully agree about their methods and how wrong they are. I would like to say though that it's totally different to a convicted paedo. If they're convicted of that it's because that is the law and they were found guilty by it. The situation in the Middle East is different because those are their laws over there. No matter how outdated or wrong we perceive them.

That's the one thing I would say about the potential of such an investor in a less negative viewpoint. They have their own laws and religious beliefs etc which all nations do. Even if we see them as wrong compared to our way of life. If they invest in Spurs they're not bringing their laws over here. We are still English and still go by our own laws. How they make their money is totally legal in their own nation. So I can understand why some are OK with it. I think it’s a tricky one. In the ideal world you have an owner who is clean but many wealthy people have their dark clouds.
There are two obvious counterpoints to your post, mate.

You have national laws and regulations, and then you have international laws and regulations. And you have universal rights. Most countries in the world have all signed such different laws and regulations through United Nations. Human rights are human rights, no matter where you are.

Secondly: it’s their laws and religious beliefs, and it’s all perfectly legal in their country. In their country. Last I checked the PL is still an English competition, played in England - not in the Middle East.

Exactly why I said they will have to abide by our laws over here. I guess it's a question of dirty money coming in but then it already is throughout the country. Not an easy one. If we can succeed with ENIC now thats a far better situation. I just hope now the stadium is built they will back Ange better than Poch.

🚨 Quick reminder; The International Break is over, so we can put this back in the game cupboard and take it out again for the November internationals! 🚨

Good, let's not join in with these cheating scum. I think we've shown lately we can sign quality without this dirty money coming in. Just need ENIC to keep supplying a good transfer kitty each year.

And if our scouting improves we won't need to splurge 60-70mn on a single player

Jesus these fuckers practically print their own money, and it's too high for even them?!
We've got literally zero chance of Enic going anywhere in my lifetime IMO, Our club is effectively generational wealth now.
Lewis is fucking ancient and Levy's in his sixties.

Your bias is showing!

The other way of looking at it...

“Qatar lowball offer rejected”
“Qatar couldn’t afford the fair market value”
"Qatar wanted part ownership, club valuation not met"
"Qatar unable to satisfy Premier League Owners' and Directors' test, so blame the price"

Amazing the narrative one can spin with the right social media/journalism clap trap.

Yep, seriously not bothered about going down that road either.
