Tottenham enquired about taking John Stones on loan from Manchester City, with a view to signing the central defender on a permanent deal for £20million.
But Stones, it is understood, wants to remain at City until told he is no longer needed.

I certainly hope no one leaks this story to Inter. That would be terrible.

I don't think this will be that bad of a move. Pep is a very attacking manager and is very demanding of his players. With Jose, he will probably just tell Stones to keep things simple and concentrate on just defending and not playing tikki taka at the back.

We will be fine, we know City doesn't like to sell to us anyway.

We've just shipped out Juan Foyth on loan, John Stones not an upgrade on him so why would or should we be wasting our money on Stones ?

I have more confidence in Japhet than John Stones, so I hope we steer clear. I would like to see Japhet Tanganga being given more opportunities than John Stones in the Europa League and Carabao Cup. Stones too error prone, let Burnley go for him if they are so short of cover. As many have said, we need strength in this position not a 5th or 6th choice CB.
I would place Dier, Sanchez, Toby, Ben Davies and Japhet before Stones.

I bet he'd loved playing in the Italian league, for someone like Inter maybe...

For a moment I thought you meant @Japhet

Couldn’t work out what you meant.

He’s 26 now and coming into his prime.

Surely he either stays at City and takes the money or goes somewhere for 1st team football.
