Spurs in turmoil

'Tired' stars slam AVB

UNHAPPY Tottenham stars held showdown talks with Andre Villas-Boas over his training and tactics.

Boss AVB also had a bust-up with technical co-ordinator Tim Sherwood, who is allegedly angry at being frozen out.

Players complained that AVB’s gruelling double training sessions — sometimes staged just 24 hours before a match — left them too tired to perform in Premier League matches this season.
And Spurs stars have also hit out at their manager’s negative style of football, telling him they would prefer to play a more attacking system. AVB has scrapped the double training sessions after listening to his squad.
Spurs, away at Manchester United tonight, are eighth in the table and unbeaten since losing at Newcastle in their opening game.

But AVB is said to have been left reeling by the mutiny, which reportedly follows bust-ups with some of the club’s old guard behind the scenes.

The Portuguese boss, who took over in July, ruthlessly axed chief scout Ian Broomfield earlier this month.
AVB’s row with Sherwood has also caused concern.

The former midfielder was looking to be more involved with the first team this season.
But AVB said this week: “I think the chairman sees Tim working with the development squad.”
Sherwood may quit if his old club Blackburn offer him the chance to replace Steve Kean, who quit last night.

The situation has echoes of the way AVB infuriated the Chelsea squad last season before he was sacked.
Villas-Boas was fined £12,000 for criticising referee Chris Foy last season — and the same man takes charge today.

Asked whether United boss Alex Ferguson has an influence over refs, the Spurs boss said: “It’s an interesting question but I paid a very high fine last time and I don’t want to do that again.”

Shock horror, an article from the sun with no quotes or news just misguided speculation.

Oh for God's sake.

This probably comes from Bale's comments that AVB's door is always open and players can share their concerns with him = mutiny/showdown talks in "The Sun" language.

I'm amazed they didn't use Star Wars scrolling text

I don't suppose that appealing to the Sun editor's better nature will stop them printing this 'Arry agenda crap. No not really

what a farce,... that ridiculous title doesn't even match the fabricated "story" here,... great work if you can get it I suppose - a little copy & paste with no quality control? my 10 year old could produce the same... can I get him on the payroll? :sneaky:

I'm actually finding it funny now. These fuckers are scrapping the barrell yet their mortgages depend on this shit. I feel quite sorry for the guy that wrote this. His wife has obviously gone elsewhere. Shame, I bet he used to be a decent guy.

Probably one of Arry's mates who had a quiet word with him and Arry said Tim's pissed off and the trainings different to what me and Bondy did.

Can we just not start a campaign to boycott this shit, from Spurs supporters.

Seriously we need to, this is getting beyond a joke. I am fucking livid.

It's very weird how certain sections of the media really do seem to have it in for AVB. I listen to some of the journos on Football Weekly and they insist there is no vendetta against him, but these seemingly baseless stories keep coming out and they keep hanging on the smallest of things such as the non-Lloris story.

Did he bang the editor of the Sun's mum or something?

It's a good idea. Anybody know the best way to start a campaign for Spurs fans to boycott the Sun ? As they did in Liverpool ? Some viral thing. Perhaps a (tongue in cheek) petition on that government petition site for Sun to be banned from making up Spurs/AVB stories ?

Or maybe we should all write a letter to the sun complaining about the anti AVB agenda they have? If everyone on this site sent an email/letter, it would surely be enough to get their attention.

What bugs me is how the media are saying the fans are unhappy with AVB, but in reality it is the media spouting all of this nonsense that is making the rest of the media think we are unhappy. Then there is a big circle of decline as everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Probably also a minority of fans reading this and believing it.
