THST joint chair has received a huge amount of critisism and abuse for the performance by the Club during the last Transfer Window. This letter is its considered overview.

It's not a very good letter, is it? Vague, not especially pointed or well written, unclear about exactly what it is trying to achieve.

It's an unfocused moan, rather like a lot of posts here, but with the rude words and jokes removed.

It seems very reactionary to me, coming a few hours after the close of the window.

If it's a genuine concern then they would be better off coming up with something more substantial and well thought out at a time when it doesn't come across as a 'oh, we didn't sign anyone then' grumble.

The timing of the letter is questionable, but the letter itself seems reasonable enough. They are concerned about the unbalance in the squad, which has happened yet again, despite the hefty price of entry, the healthy club finances, and the fact that the season is already underway. They hardly have to point out that we have only one recognized striker (barring a seemingly impossible turnaround regarding Adebayor) to further underline these points.

Personally, I'm not that bothered by the transfer window we've just had, although I'd have much preferred some insurance against injury or loss of form for Kane. I think we're ok in midfield. But the fans this letter purports to represent are putting down a marker - you can expect pressure from the terraces if we're goal shy and/or are unfortunate enough to lose Kane to injury.

I think some noisy dissatisfaction for poor form was inevitable anyway, but if the lack of a backup striker is the reason, then that was avoidable. And it's nice they put it in a letter!

1st of September 2015 - mark it up lads, it's the day we turned into Liverpool supporters.

That letter is a fucking embarrassment.

Think it`s good that the dissatisfaction is immediately registered but lacks any clarity.
On behalf of Enic Levy has seriously cocked up, and should explain his decisions. Why did he only make a half hearted attempt to sign a new striker? why did he leave everything until the last minute and why did he upset so many clubs and players with his now famous loser approach?
I am sure there are better questions that can be asked but this letter lets Levy off the hook by allowing an equally vague response` difficult market, blah blah,`

It doesn't really point out our glaring weaknesses in our line up.

Really bad letter we have to remember the Key business this summer:
Keeping lloris, rose, verts, Kane
Finding verts a reliable partner
Bringing in some much needed pace up top
Getting rid of most of the toxic deadwood
Ok we missed out on a striker because levy got levyied
But we have Chadli a proven PL goal scorer to fill in it take the pressure off Kane
And a number of players can fill in DM if needed
We are in much better shape this year than last
And you know what I think with this cohesive group we could prove a few people wrong

Or.........
We got a RB from a relegated team who is sitting on the bench!
We got a CB from a team that nearly got relegated in the Bundesliga sitting on the bench!
We got a CB from Southampton who couldn't make it at Athletico Madrid!
We got an attacking player from Leverkusen who Bayern Munich and Dortmund have shown absolutely no interest in!
We got a raw attacking player from Lyon who nobody has heard of and who it appears nobody else was interested in!
We are left with only 1 out and out Striker in Harry Kane who now has even more pressure on his young shoulders to perform!
Oh and Levy and Enic have managed to come out of yet another transfer window breaking even but have saved a packet on wages!!!!!

1- go look at trippier stats on opta
2- not sure
3- so what? Atletico Madrid are a top team. Not every player works. They sign loads.
4- Kevin de bruyne? Berbatov? We signed klinsmann!!! So what?
5- son and Njie add much need pace. Not many clubs wanted modric, berbatov, vdv, lloris... There are a lot of players out there. Some work, some don't. Give them a chance

Are you talking about the Club or the THST?

You do crack me up David. If only every Spurs fan was worthy of sitting up there with you, on your self righteous throne on Mount High Moral! ;)

Don't be silly knee jerkers don't have enough patience to give them a chance, they should at least wait till we have played a few fixtures.

If it doesn't work straight away they will be on this site moaning, if it does work they won't be the 1st on here accepting they were wrong, if anything they will find other faults.

it's better than having the usual bullshit being shouted by the majority of people on this (and other) forums.

I wonder whether or not we will receive an explanation from Levy. We have gone so far backwards. The transfer policy is astonishing. It seems we had one striking target all summer. I don't even think he's that good (and frankly he appears to be lacking in character). Do we not have scouts?

I can't work this comment out. It sounds like you're criticizing him for being praiseworthy!!??

If so, you're half right: DM's posts are invariably insightful and witty.

We are now a club that looks to promote from within, which six weeks ago every one was very excited about. Not signing a midfield player means Tom Carroll and Harry Winks will get their chance, as will the likes of Onomah.

We can't promote exciting young talent by blocking the route to the first team.

When you look at who departed and who was brought in I think overall we are stronger. Soldado, Paulinho, Ciriches, Stambouli, Capoue etc out.

None were good.

Disappointed not getting a striker and a lot now hinges on Kane until January but I think with more pace in the squad, should provide him with more space and therefore better opportunities to score.

I think we need to see how Njie and Son go over the next month before we light a fire under the board.

Saying that, I'm disturbed by the £80 million profit, would rather see that go towards better players. Then raising ticket prices on top of that also seems ridiculous.
