I'm a little concerned that we don't seem to have a consistent/permanent captain. Half the time we're guessing who's going to wear the armband.
I really would like us to name a captain, a player that plays every game...............but who??

Too early for him yet.

But ultimately, yes. Verts.

Although.......

If he hadn't got himself injured, Kaboom would have been a shoe-in for the armband all season wouldn't he? And he's earned it.

So Younes as cappo, and Verts as his deputy?

It's tough when a player comes in and takes it straight away but if he is right then just do it.

With Lloris as VC.
He's only played 90mins for us - isn't it a bit early to start making that kind of judgement?

He'd have to be one hell of a cappo to warrant it as well. It's hardly the ideal position for leading the team.

I did initially think it would be too early to just give it to him, but why delay it? It doesn't really serve much purpose seeing as we don't even really know who our captain is. We know he'll play pretty much every game and he's said he's in it for the long haul. Also, he's fucking class. Parker took the armband as vice whenever King was out last year and that was his first year yet he had the respect of his peers. The players respect Vertonghen so he may as well be captain, there aren't many other choices really.

French national captain already though, so clearly has the attributes.

New manager, new setup, new players, new captain.
