I've criticised Walcott on many occasions in the past but recently I've started looking at him with an open mind and I must say that as a striker I'm intrigued and I think he could develop into a good one.

If Wenger doesn't give him the assurances that he wants (to play as a striker) then I would welcome him at Spurs.

Thoughts?

I've been thinking about this as well and one word springs to mind.

Make of it what you will, if he did come to us ... :

No thanks. Mr.Turnupfor2gamesaseason.

No consistency, overrated and just looks like a complete twat. There's a reason Liverpool are interested....to add to the collection of overrated English talent they have.

to be fair hes actually pretty compose when he finishes. defoe scores more goal, yes, but i'm talking about composure here, which imo walcott has slightly me. he can actually slot pass keeper during a one on one, while defoe is more of a blast the hell out of the ball style.

I really don't think there is much difference between the two in terms of goalscoring ability when playing RM.

Lennon is a better midfielder than Walcott any day of the week. Walcott however can play a more central role, something Lennon could never do but Mr.Bale could end up doing eventually.

As a striker I think he would be very good. Have to be in the right formation for him, but slotting the ball through for him to run onto like Owen I think he would be great. Seems like his career so far has been a bit wasted.

I've been thinking this too.. Maybe an offer from AVB to team up with Bale again, and to have a central rather than a wide role would sway him.

And he also seems like he has issues with the arsenal supporters, so he could really stick his fingers up to them.

Downside, they wouldn't deal with us, and he would want a fortune. But, we do have the number 14 available.

Walcott? No thanks.

He's not a winger in any capacity, and I'd rather Lennon in that position. His best place is off the striker as he's a decent finisher but I'd rather Defoe.

On the odd occasion he can control the ball first time he can get a decent side foot finish off, other than that he is an inconsistent and technically deficient chancer.

He played really well today in the 3-3 draw with Fulham. His final ball is definitely better than Lennon.

I think the Lennon Walnut comparisons are inaccurate. Lennon is a right winger, and he's very good at the role, Walnut is more of a wide forward, a position in which he is wildly inconsistent. Lennon is better at his job than Walnut is at his imho.
