Have to agree and people will say, " calm the fuck down there's still x amount of weeks till the end of the window" but we need players in place for the start of the season as these first 4 or 5 games are as important as the last 4 or 5 of the season and we always come up short on options for the first few games through fucking dilly dallying!

You assume we dilly dally? You're an agent for a player that has options. You literally would be doing your job incorrectly if you didn't sweat both clubs for as much money as possible, that's your fee after all.

The lack of understanding of this process that pervades this forum, despite the number of years this sort of info has been available is staggering.

The asset has a voice, it doesn't care about the club's pre-season planning, it cares about an extra £20k a week or a chunkier transfer fee for its agent.

We must act quickly but be cautious; we must spend silly money but in a calculated way that represents value for money.

Glad we cleared that up ;)

Is it not your job to put the simple into unfathomable bollocks, not the other way round???

I'm very optimistic on our backup striker/WF front. I think we'll snap up 2 of our targets. The ITK has been generally strong especially with Berahino and Werner and I believe those who have been mentioned are attainable.

Where I'm not optimistic is the CM front, I either don't like the targets or I don't think they're attainable.

I agree with you but it really is cyclical. When people use the finances as reasons for slow transfers then they get shouted down and told to "leave the money situation to the accountants" yet when people start complaining about slow transfers, out come the finance people again and so on and so on.

Lamela
Eriksen
Chiriches
Lloris
Dempsey
VDV

All done in the last couple of days of the transfer window. Yet every year our fans panic and say we're not getting anyone and vdv was a one off. These are only players off the top of my head i'm sure there are many more.
We currently have a team capable of winning matches. Backup striker is a worry but we have the whole of next week to get one.
Relax and see what the team can do. They might suprise you.

Yeah depends on the player and his value for our team. There are some out there that seem overpriced in the beginning, but are likely to be the missing link to have a succesful team here. For example Morgan Schneiderlin last season. I'd say spending 25m on him would have been fine business for the long term. In other positions where you have got a few decent options, to be cautious is totally fine for me.

Biggest theme running through ITK is, work is going on in the background, just because we're not all aware of who and how far through it is, doesn't mean it isn't happening.
There has been plenty of talk how Pochettino wants it done prior to the German trip, and is completely onboard with targets.
That's good enough for me. I'm expecting a the final pieces to fall into place very quickly once Soldado and Ade are sold. I know there were varying statements how incomings were not reliant on outgoings, but if they are as close as is rumoured, timings may be linked.

This.

Honestly I despair how thick a lot of people on here are. They are under the delusion that unless we are getting ITK updates every hour of every day then nothing is happening.

It's fucking wearing to come here and read their whiny bullshit everyday.

One winner. Daniel levy. Bundles in the coffers his bonus will be handsome. Shock we are nowhere near ready for the opening day of the season. Been here before.

To what piece of ITK is this related to? just asking in case there was information on the exact date of the end of the world......

Gotta get something sorted soon. Bent gets injured before United with mason out too we are screwed, same goes for Kane. Can't walk into season with only 3 cm fit one being a kid from league one and one striker with Bobby and adey elsewhere. We're gambling more by not gambling. Especially with Ramos and Pepe coming up.

Do you not think the management know all this?

But we got cover for Bent back in 2008.

Also, the reality is, we're favourites to lose against United no matter who we bring in. Losing that game is hardly the end of our campaign.

Were Bobby and Ade factors last year? No? So why should that matter?

Were any of the CMs we sold this year factors? No? Then why should that matter?

The level of worry fans have over selling players who were warm bodies at best does my head in. An academy kid can easily fill the warm body role if needed. It isn't that hard.

We sold exactly no key squad players, at absolute worse we're starting the season with the same squad we finished last year with a couple solid defensive additions and youth additions (Pritchard, Alli, etc.). I have no idea how people look at that like the sky is falling.

IF Kane was to pick up an injury in Munich, you'd be happy with Shaq to lead the line? Or maybe Chadli? Sorry but that's not acceptable. I fully expect Soldado to be in the squad until we have signed a replacement.

As for our academy boys they can cover in emergencies for 1-2 games but they're not ready for week in week out Prem football. So lets all hope we don't pick up any long term injuries. (whilst Levy is working in the background to bring in new players). Which looking at the players listed in the ITK have very little Prem experience. Fingers crossed Berahino and McCarthy are on the way in.
