Don't believe it for a second. He's terrible defensively and only fairly decent going forward. He's not the biggest or strongest. He is an athlete, he can get up and down all day but there's very little quality at either end.

I definitely believe he's not brilliant defensively but he's better than Walker offensively and always has been. That's not to say he's Danny Alves either, but then Walker's just had his most productive season ever and Smith was till more productive. For Bournemouth.

Bournemouth don't play the way we do so its difficult to say, he's definitely more Trippier than Walker in style which might not be a bad thing I rather like Trippier. My major doubts with him are definitely defensive. He looked one of the worst fullbacks we faced last season and there is some pretty stiff competition for pure sh*tness in that list. We ran him ragged in both our games against them. Maybe we sign him and he blows me away but I'm sceptical.

Ledley? If he wants it?

Don't think he's interested. He doesn't have the personality for it. He's not a good communicator for a start.

As to who we bring in for the U23's that's a very interesting question. As long as its not Ady Boothroyd we're fine.

What do the youth watchers make of the prospect of us looking to bring back Adam Smith if we sell Walker?

Im not disagreeing with you and I have never been an Adam Smith fan but

Walker despite being the best RB in the league isn't great defensively and neither great offensively but poch has managed to take his raw attributes and turn him in to one of our most important player(as he is often one of the guys busting a gut providing width on the right and taking a player away from one of the attackers during a counter)

If we are replacing Walker, I would prefer poch to get a player with similar raw attributes to Walker and hope Poch can work his magic once again.

Personally I would rather go fredericks over Smith but preferably a more experienced player to plug a gap for 1 or 2 seasons whilst Walker-Peters gets ready

Defensively I don't think he'll ever blow us away, but I think if you put Walker next to Francis in Bournemouth's 442 he'd start to look a shitload more ropey, and transversely, you put Smith as RWB with the likes of TA and JV in our 3421 and I think he'd start to look a bit less defensively ropey than he does for Bournemouth.

but then Walker's just had his most productive season ever and Smith was till more productive. For Bournemouth.
1) It was Smith's most productive season too.
2) Walker played nearly 400 mins less, yet created more chances and had the same amount of assists, though Walker would have had more if scoring own goals from opposition crosses/passes counted.

Smith also scored, unlike Walker. And Smith would have more assists if he had Kane, Alli, Son and Eriksen in his team. Trippier beat Walkers assists with about 25% of the minutes.

It was also Smith's second season in the EPL and for some of that time he's been played on the left I think.

Anyone watch Venezuela USA? How did CCV do; judging by Venezuela's results so far, keeping a clean sheet in normal time is very impressive.

You really have something against Walker.

He's a great player and easily one of the best fullbacks in the competition.

Walker isn't our most important player.
He is one of our most important players imo, the right wing unlike the left wing, is a bit of a hot potato position no one wants to be there. When ever Eriksen, Son and etc. play there they are always looking to go inside whereas when they are on the left they are more willing to hug the touchline and keep the width

Due to this reason Walker's athleticism has been very important to us as he keeps the width for the attacking players to space in between the lines and stop the other team from going narrow to stop us from hurting them, he does this whilst getting back in time for the defence to keep its shape.

When trippier plays we dont have the same width as he doesnt get up and down as much, however when we play against teams that sit deep, Trippier's crossing comes in to play and he is better than walker in this aspect.

Walker has also minimised the impact of the sissoko signing as well, or the lack of impact from him.

Some frustratingly sloppy final balls from KWP so far in this match. Messed up a few crosses. He's been bright though. Onomah as well with a few loose passes.

I'm really liking how England are performing. Really showing a positive attitude and expressing themselves.

I hope they can maintain it.
